I had this too.
What i noticed is that it started sometimes after i changed my difficulty options, driving assists.
I turned off traction control, abs and stability control.
I fixed it by resetting that assists page, ticked restore default settings and then turned down those options again but not all the way off.
@miazbaker This is a separate issue. This does not resolve the issue for the rest of us.
Same issue here on XSX. I have tried with controller and thrustmaster wheel and both are the same. I made a video to show a comparison with Grid 2019.
Both with same settings, same car, both releasing throttle at approximately 100mph. Grid 2019 is exactly as expected, coasts for a long distance and gradually reduces speed then still ticks over at a few mph in first gear. Grid Legends comes to a complete stop in just a short distance.

I’ve just tried this and it seems to have worked for me on Xbox Series X. Tried a race and releasing the throttle didn’t result in braking! It coasted as it should. Thanks for the fix, hopefully the upcoming update helps fix it for those still having the issue.
