    Hey everyone,

    If you're still running into the same sound issues could you share a DxDiag when you have the chance? For more details on how to pull one up check out the EA Help website

    Once you have the text file please attach it to this thread. Thanks!

  • Hey, have the same issue. Tried different settings for Audio (Headphones/Loudspeaker, with or without Spatial Audio). Even tried to reduce the Quality settings (Graphics, seems not to be the problem). The issue does not occur during Video Sequences; only when driving. DxDiag System info attached. Let me know if you need anything else.

    Basically the game is unplayable. Even on lowest settings not only the sound stutters but also the game (Story, First Testdrive for the team. It keeps stuttering - not only audio but also otherwise - races bevor that had no stuttering in gameplay just on audio; setting music loudness to 0 had no effect). It seems to be an issue with the rendering; but if you look at my specks they should by far be enough to play the game on low detail...

    @Baruch_FFJ

    Thank you! I appreciate the info.

    When you have the chance could you try starting up your PC in a Clean Boot to see if that makes any difference? If there's anything running that could be related to the sound issues that may help to narrow it down.

    You can find more details on how to set up a Clean Boot at the EA Help website. If you're able to give it a shot please let me know how it goes. Thanks!

  • Sorry for coming back so late. Even after reinstalling/uninstalling my audio drivers, reinstalling the game, clean boot the behavior is the same. It is definitely a problem of the game. No other game I play has this issue. From the way it is occurring I guess it has something to do with synchronization. Either something like bursting data into the audio buffer just a little to late or something else is locking the audio thread (if there is one) for just a short time (like 200ms or something) which creates a short stop in audio.I also (not because of the game) but updated to another graphics card (RTX 3060) and updated RAM, executed dism to make sure my system works correct, executed a fsck (all before reinstalling the game). Sadly still the same issue. Not sure if it is an issue with Realtek drivers, but just as a hint. An updated DxDiag.txt is attached.

    @Baruch_FFJ Ok short update: now i really tried what you call a "clean" boot. Of course I cannot start the game, when the EA background service is not running.... I tried to enable just a few services and disabled the EA Play overlay for the game; which didn't have any effect except that during the start of the game I get an error message. Just as a hint for another bug. I tried to disable Vertical Sync, because it seems like it could cause that issue, I am not exactly sure, but the pause in audio might have gotten a little less long... which would still speak for a sync/buffer issue.

    You experience 'a lot of audio' output? What do mean with this? My audio device is an onboard Realtek® ALC1220 Codec

    @Baruch_FFJ i mean im mixing with 3 audio controllers, 1 usb for headphones and mic, a sound blaster for spdif , plus hdmi audio from Geforce. If you expérience issues, try to find à release of 2.80 realtek driver, and look for apo configuration. I can provide links if needed.

    @CyberValou According to dxdiag I have a Realtek Driver Version 6.0.9316.1 (from February 2022), so I guess this is quite up to date. I just checked, there was actually an update to 6.0.9336.1

    @Machinomancer Thanks for the info.

    @Baruch_FFJ yes i noticed the version, i found your dxdiag and read it. I have the same realtek than you on an asus motherboard, it may be tricky to find a fully working driver. I tried modded drivers, older versions not modified, and there is a lot to say about that since some will allow some things like dolby, some will be tweakable to adapt the signal, ... All i can say is that, in my case, worst drivers are delivered by asus itself lol.

    Ok, I updated my drivers, updated the game and tried again. Same behavior. In the menu music has clear pauses; like in old games when your PC was actually under load. Sad that the Devs do not reply anything more... Tested the Benchmark and it stuttered again. I am not willing to install another Realtek driver (mine is from MSI) since it works with all other games and I don't have any problems. It is clearly a problem of THAT game. Sad. Additionally the bug that if the EA in game overlay is disabled on startup I receive an error message still exists. Guess it is just with other cases: The gamers cry, companies force them to work overtime and this is the result. Games are released to early not tested good enough and get fixed after people start playing it.

  • @Baruch_FFJ Have you tried lowering the sample rate for the onboard audio to 16bit/48kHz ? I think that will fix you up.

    Yes I tried that. Did not help. I was using the demo version available via EA Play. I reinstalled my PC completely and bought the game via Steam. That worked out of the box without any stuttering. Might have been some system setting, maybe EA Play was the problem (i also got some errors when starting up without in-game overlay enabled). Not sure. But now it works. Thank you for you suggestion.
