    Good morning,

In the first instance I would like to complement Codemasters on such a fantastic racing game.

I have an XBox X and would like to report the following. for all the game has not crashed - it takes in order of 5-10 minutes
to load the game.  I'm wondering if this is an indication of a corrupted game file?

This occurred after using a wired XBox controller for a different game instead of my Thrustmaster FFB steering wheel.  I tried hot swapping from the controller to the steering wheel after Legends had started. The wheel did it usual calibration thing and the game eventually started.

The Symptoms I am having is that the Steering wheels inputs work fine when using the gaming options calibration screen, wheel left and right results in 0-100% deflection within the UI.

However, when I start the game - wheel position is not recognised, the car can accelerate, the buttons and force feedback works when the car crashes into the wall, but steering position is not detected.

Unplugging the Steering wheel and plugging in a hand controller, hand controller works fine.

    Date/Time of Crash

1630 06 Oct 22 - The excessive time game takes to load almost appears like a crash.

Did you play the game using Quick Resume at the time, or do you fully Quit the game after each session?

Console has been fully restarted, hard-rebooted and inserted the steering wheel USB cable to a port on the back of the console.

When the game crashed this time, which of the following were you using?

    Car: Audi
Track: Shanghai (track is indifferent, wheel fails on all tracks)
    Game Mode: career
    Camera Angle: bonnet
    Weather/Time: eveninig, dry

Were you playing in 60hz or 120hz mode?

    60

    Were you playing in 4K?

    yes

Were you playing online or offline?

  • @mrusko I have the identical issue as you. I have been playing the game without any problems at all, then the problem started. All I could see is that Xbox had a system update that same day the problem started.

I really do not know what to do. As is it an Xbox problem? or a game problem? I suspect it is the system update,

I don't add people as friends on games unless I can talk to them first.

My XBox is installing an update now.  I had given up hope of playing Grid Legends for a while with my steering wheel after reporting the issue as requested within the crashes template.

Going to test the Grid Legends - Steering Wheel Combo post that to see if the console update resolves the issue.

I did a little research and there are suggestions the USB Driver could have been corrupted on the console as a result of using a wired controller as opposed to the steering wheel.

I'm loathe to do a factory reset on the console - the game updates themselves take forever to download.  Grid Legends has a large update which is now installing, hopefully that'll iron out the steering wheel calibrating fine, giving every indication via the Game Test GUI pre race that it is ok, then failing to steer the car during the race.

Post XBOX update AND Grid Legends Latest update.  [EDITED 12 Nov 22]

Issue I reported less than 4 weeks ago has been resolved. Bears testament to the excellent level of support the Codemasters has with it major partner, Microsoft.

I whole heartedly support purchasing this game at full price, it is second to none for Flow, arcade / Sim racing fun!
