[resolved] Boost does not work

Summarize your bug Using the boost does nothing for you.
Please specify your platform model. Steam
Did you have cross-play enabled? Yes
In what game mode did the bug occur? Online Race Creator
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Set up a race with race creator, with lap or gate boosts, try to activate your boost
What happens when the bug occurs? The car does not go any faster when using the boost
What do you expect to see? The car should rapidly accelerate and go faster when using the boost.

Both kinds of boost races (lap boost and gate boost) are currently broken.

Boost charges correctly, you get your charges after crossing start/finish line or after activating the gates.

Unfurtunately, trying to use a boost charge does nothing.

You're getting the boost activation sound and the 'zoom' animation, but the car does not accelerate any faster, seems like there's no benefit of boost whatsoever. I'm getting the same laptimes regardles if I use boost or not.

Bots seem to be able to boost correctly, they can still overtake you on straights with great speed difference.

EDIT: seems like you need to press and hold the boost button to actually get the effects of boost. Unfortunately, you'll probably hold it a little bit too long, which will consume your second boost automatically... and then the third one, if you're still holding. So the system is still broken.

Please, revert it to the original behaviour, where 1 press is 1 boost charge consumed.

    @painisawarningI checked this myself and it still works but it isn't as powerful as it was before. My guess is it has been tweaked probably to try to make the game more balanced. Also if you hold it for longer you do gain more speed but at the expense of boost bar

    @doomrunner666 I really couldn't tell the difference.
    With, say, jaguar cup cars, there's no extra acceleration out of corner whatsoever, when using boost.

    I'm not getting closer to bots at all.

    @painisawarningAfter checking this out some more it seems to me that you now have to hold the boost button down for it to stay active a simple button press just deactivates it straight away. So perhaps try holding the button down instead of quick pressing it and see if that works

    @doomrunner666 OK, this seems to be the case.

    When I press and hold the boost button, it seems to work, the car starts accelerating.

    But... if you hold the button too long, it will actually start to consume your second boost, and then the third, which is pretty hilarious.

    And since you have no idea how long to hold the button to only utilze 1 charge, you'll end up consuming 2 boosts instead of one anyway, which was the original issue with the boost, introduced with destruction derby DLC.

    I'm amazed, on how many levels this game can be broken.
    Issue with boost still persist, I'll edit my original post.

    I don't think anything changed with patch 4.0?

    From what I've seen, I still need to press and hold the boost to actually get anything, and I waste multiple boosts per activation.

    on Steam here, boosts finally working properly for me. Need one click for full boost no holding, no double activation either.
