Codemasters TeamOk first off just want to say thanks for Grid Legends. As of now it’s my favorite racing game and hope the game gets the support it deserves.
that being said, yes the game has been a buggy mess. But I am hopeful. Fast forward to the latest update 1.09. After downloading and playing a bit I see that yellow markers and sponsors events/tracking is still not working properly. But for myself I decided to do what I didn’t want to do which is first reset progress followed by a start new save file in the options menu.
friends. I don’t want to get anyones hopes up but after doing that and playing for a couple hours just blowing thru the game everything is working perfectly. Sponsored events tracking no issues and yellow markers are not popping up. Also haven’t seen any car menu visual glitches.

I’m am playing on series s. Have the deluxe edition. Running latest 1.09
my guess is that maybe, maybe it’s our save files that are corrupt and the patch is not able to do its job properly because certain aspects may be locked due to bugs before the updates. . (If that makes sense)
Update after 2+ Addition hours of play.
since My last post when i reset my progress, followed by starting a new save file. I can confirm that sponsors are working properly. Green check marks with the correct number/number. So far I have completed 4 sponsors and everything is still without issues and unlocking perfectly.
yellow markers are still not reappearing in my game in none of the menus (story, career, garage, team).
only time I saw a yellow marker reappear was when it was tied into a event that I haven’t unlocked yet. Once I unlocked event and checked it out, yellow marker never came back.
still sticking with previous guess that anyone who is having issues may be because there save file predates the patches that claims to fix the issue in effect somehow not letting the patch work as intended.
Im not a developer but that’s just my guess. Either that or something may be wrong with the “mechanic development” maybe when buying a specific perk it may be messing with the numbers? Hence cause if the bug… idk? I only say that since I have not purchased any of them since starting over.
all I know is I can verify in my case that resetting progress followed by starting new save file has fixed all issues for me.
will keep updating if anything changes or bugs resurface.

Bro....I appreciate you giving us the heads up and confirming the sponsor/career related bugs are fixed, but C'mon...no one in their right mind is gonna restart the campaign and redo **ALL** of those events again from scratch. The game's campaign is extremely long. I'm already at the Pro events with everything else completed, and there's no effing way I'm doing all those again from the beginning lol. They need to figure out how to fix this *without* us having to reset our save and do everything again. That's just crazy.
Also, I just don't see how things like wrong car thumbnails, livery editor or controller issues in race creator are connected to my save file 🙂
Ok. Update 3. I’ve read a couple post and yea I agree. If it has to do with the save file, which I believe it does, they do need to fix it without having to lose all your progress so that everything works properly. I was also half way thru Pro and had so much unlocked and starting over was no fun but I didn’t think it was too bad either. If you wanted to go the reset and start and new save file route like I did, one option is turning down the difficulty and just getting thru the races as face as you can. Also maybe having a friend on co-op mode and doing it together.
Regardless I don’t want anyone to delete anything on my account. They really need to fix this but this is just what I found that worked for me playing on the Xbox series s console.
that being said after 2 days of play, I have got to the point where some yellow markers do pop up but only after I turn off the game completely and reboot the console. They will be seen in story, which I haven’t completed so it’s expected, the other shows up in “team profile” both in team banner and icon (minor bug but still annoying). The other yellow mark is on 2 cars. Volkswagen Golf GTI and the dlc Audi R8 1:1 ( both of which I have driven and upgraded to at least level 1). Other then that I’m not having the yellow markers reappear on anything which is great.
and more importantly the sponsors are working properly. I’ve unlocked everything that’s tied to them upon completion and the numbers and everything are correct and holding.
one word of caution, it only happened once, where the check mark said it was done but I didn’t get the confirmation after race. Before I did anything I did another race and then it gave it to me. I think the problem may be that the numbers can end in “point something”. 9.8 miles for example, it says 10 miles to complete and it may count it as 10 but you really have half mile before it’s truly complete.? Either way just make sure you get a notification after racing before switching to something new so that it truly is 100%. .
i posted a picture showing everything working perfectly. I do have one question tho with regard to currency, I don’t ever notice it give me any extra currency in my bank when I get the notification that I completed the sponsor but it does unlock the cars/events no problem which I think is more important.

The yellow markers are pretty much expected with the DLC because it detects it on startup, I have noticed that on other codies games that use this engine as well, so that for me is just the norm. The only other issue I have with the patch is that the street lighting constantly flickers now when racing a dusk race, other than that I am satisfied. I am really grateful for all the input you are giving with these posts and I am actually restarting career mode myself now because I wanted to replay it unbroken although I have made a back up of my save as well just incase! keep up the good work
