@Par-Jaffa I have been lobbying for this as well, but in order to remove the reticule they may need to remodel how the swing works. Especially for the putting, distance control is tied so much to it.
Controlling distances with partial shots, and adjustments in loft would add a lot of realism in my mind. Rather than the current point and shoot system.
Taking away yardages would make things more challenging as well, where you have to base it off yardage markers. And putting without knowing exact distances and judged by an eye test would be interesting. Putting without knowing the exact distance, and elevation change or being able to dail-in the weight of the stroke would be challenging indeed.
