I'm on PS5 and had the same issue, finally solved it. You need to hit your driver for all five drives, it won't give you credit if you use a wood. Same applies on other similar challenges when you have to hit all 5 drives in fairway.
It looks like most challenges are working correctly but some are giving stars but no rewards.
I got rewards on the Augusta 2023 challenges and PGA coaches challenges. Then I played the a couple of Taylor Made Sponser challenges and got the stars but no rewards. There were no rewards when I opended the game this morming.

PC has its own issues and you'll likely find it difficult to get a refund. I'm sure your issue will be fixed in time. If I were you I'd either focus on play that has nothing to do with stars or play something else until it's been resolved.
Hold on just one second, the game is broke and has been for a week now, surly that entitles me or anyone to get a refund?, the game is substandard and is clearly still in early access.
Sorry to hear your still not getting any sucess. Unfortunately That's just the way of the tech world. People that take the product Early on in its life cycle will always be the testers. Its the speed and way that the developers fix and roll them out that is important. All in all I would say the game is great and was well worth the wait, I look forward to the further development and features withing this game.

That video shows you getting a star, and the Dustin Johnson challenge going from 0/5 to 1/5 completed? Maybe I'm missing something but it doesn't seem to show a problem... Note you have to complete 5/5 of Dustin Johnson's challenges to get the reward for them.

You did get one star (the yellow/orange 5 pointed things) but you need all 5 stars to get the reward. That's what the white circle with the black star in the middle and the '5' next to it is indicating, under the reward point symbol indicating what you'll get when you complete the challenge.

When you get all 5 stars you will get the reward.

Ah! You mean Skill Points 🙂. These are yellow hexagons with a white cross in the middle, not stars!
To gain skill points you need to earn XP to increase your player level as shown in the top-right of the menu screen, which also shows how many more XP you need to reach the next level. If you complete all 5 of the Dustin Johnson challenges you were looking at you will earn the rewards for this, which are 20,000 XP and 1,000 Reward Points. The XP will go towards levelling up your player and so will in turn go towards earning skill points. I hope that makes sense?
Note that for each challenge there is a Preview Rewards option you can select to decide whether what you could earn is worth the effort.
