Re: Save Error - There was an error while saving.

SOLVED:  DISABLE IN GAME TOOL TIPS.

To begin, im playing on PC. 

My Specs:

- Z590 Arous MoBo

- i7-10700K @ 3.80GHz

- 32GB RAM

- 3070 RTX MSI GPU

- Windows 10

- Storage: 250GB & 2TB m.2 NVMe Samsung Evo Plus 

- Playing on Steam where it opens the EA App to launch the game. 

PROBLEM: 

-- EA Sports PGA TOUR SAVE ERROR CODE:23 --

For those who may wonder about my troubleshooting process, please note I have an extensive IT background and that I've performed the following:

- Uninstalled EA Sports PGA TOUR.

- Removed Steam install folder location.

- Rebooted computer.

- Checked Event Viewer Logs, no alerts.

- Checked for Windows 10 Updates

- Reinstalled recent Graphics Driver

- Installed EA Sports PGA TOUR on my secondary internal SSD NVMe Samsung 2TB 970 Plus.

- Verified game files in Steam, all files successfully verified.

SOLUTION :

To disable in game 'Tool-Tips' for EA Sports PGA TOUR, do the following:

- I'm on Steam, so I navigate to the game and launch it.

- I then get the 'Save Error 23'.

- Navigate through the top to 'Settings'.

- Navigate to the 'Accessibility' tab.

- The first option will be to Enable/Disable 'Tool-Tips'.

- I then relaunch the game and don't see the error whatsoever. 

I noticed that my data from completing previous challenges has registered so perhaps the issue was directly related to the Tool-Tips process where it 'saves' information on your tutorial experience/completion.

    I posted the fix to this issue on Reddit. Another user provided the steps needed to disable the tool tips. 

    Users need to disable the tool tips in the settings. 

    SOLUTION :

    To disable in game 'Tool-Tips' for EA Sports PGA TOUR, do the following:

    - I'm on Steam, so I navigate to the game and launch it.

    - I then get the 'Save Error 23'.

    - Navigate through the top to 'Settings'.

    - Navigate to the 'Accessibility' tab.

    - The first option will be to Enable/Disable 'Tool-Tips'.

    - I then relaunch the game and don't see the error whatsoever.

    Doesn't work at all for me.  As soon as I try to save after changing the tool tips to disabled I get the error then it says saved.  When I restart the game, tool tips is enabled again and the error continues.

    Sorry but this doesn't work for me.  The setting is not saved after reboot and the Save Error 23 still remains.  I am on the EA App by the way on PC.

    @JohnnyJ1971Hey, it didnt work for me either, but what did is that i opened the game, then tried the same thing, it didnt work. But while having the game OPEN, delete the PGA TOUR FOLDER IN THE DOCUMENTS FOLDER WHILE THE GAME IS OPEN, THEN CHANGE THE HINTS SETTING, try that out and let me know if it fixes, it should be a 100% fix.

    Deleting the PGA Tour folder in C:\Users\USERNAME\Documents while the game was open fixed the saving issue. I still lost all my career progress as my old file is corrupt but my created golfer remains intact and I can start Career over.

    Yep, delete My Documents\PGA Tour folder with the game up and running. No more error. Career progress is lost but strangely my Sponsor Challenge progress is saved. Thanks.

    3 Accounts with error code 23

    Tell me EA, can you fix the problem?
    Or should we send a developer over?

    Or should I start again from the beginning with the fear that at level 30 you will enter eroor code 23 again?

    The game has been on the market since April and is disappointingly poorly supported.

    Do not put us off but take care of support otherwise the paying customers will jump off
