The idea is to use the red tickets in the weekly and seasonal tournaments to earn that gold.

@Mark_MiwurdzI've used tickets and competed in every single weekly and seasonal tournament since launch. I still have an excess of 5,500 tickets that I'll never use up and would rather trade most of those tickets in for gold, the same way you can use gold to purchase tickets.
