Since you mentioned “feathers,” I’m sure you mean Mahjong Sanctuary (MS) and not Mahjong Garden (MG).  Feathers are awarded only two ways:   by playing & completing the Daily Board* every day AND by playing & completing brand-new-to-you levels. It will take almost 2 weeks of playing the daily every day to get enough power-ups to make a difference.. (It’s 5 feathers cheaper per power-up if you buy them in 10’s).  

*After you hit “Play,” you will be on the Zoo main page--On the Left Hand Bottom Corner, click on the third icon from the “Pause” icon--that is the Daily Board.  You get bonus feathers if you play seven days in a row - but - if the daily is too hard, don’t worry about it.  Try again the next day. Life is short and Pogo is supposed to be fun.

PRO TIP:   Before you start MS, always make sure to look on right hand side and see how many Available Matches there are. 

It’s important that if you think you will forget, make a quick note.

Because if you should lose that game and hit “Back to Sanctuary” and then “Play,” you most likely will see a decrease in available matches.

Save your time and sanity:  when that happens, just hit “Back to Sanctuary” and “Play” as many times as it will take to get the same or more available matches as the first game board you played. Make note if it is more Available Matches in case you lose again.

 ( On the latest new levels, when I saw only 3 measly matches available on first game boards that looked very complicated, I didn’t even bother trying to play the game--I just clicked right away on “Back to Sanctuary” and “Play” and got more Available Matches.)
