Hey there! With the upcoming changes to the Friends and social system on Pogo we wanted to make the transition as easy for you as we can so we're going to answer a few common questions below. This isn't an exhaustive list and if you run into any issues or additional questions be sure to bring them to us here on AHQ.

When will these changes roll out to players?
Will all my Pogo Classic friends carry over to the new Pogo?
Some friendships will carry over, but others may not. On Pogo Classic, you could add any other player to your My Friends list. Likewise, any other player could add you, even without you knowing or approving.
We preserved all existing two-way mutual friendships on the new Pogo. That is, if you friended someone and they friended you back, you’ll still be friends. In cases of one-way friendships, you’ll need to send out new friend requests.
We want to give you more control and privacy on the new Pogo, so now friendships require a simple approval process. Only players you approve of will be able to be your Pogo friend and see when you’re online.
Will the old My Friends page on Pogo Classic remain available?
The My Friends page on Pogo Classic will remain available until June, 2021, though we have disabled the ability to add new friends while using it. We wanted to make sure you have time to compare your new list to your old list.
Will my Pogo Classic blocked players list be transferred to the new Pogo?
How do I add a new friend?
Just follow these steps...
- Click or tap on the Friends icon in the top site navigation.
- Click or tap the “View All Friends” button at the bottom of the menu.
- From your Friends page, type or paste a screen name in the search bar at the top. If you remember the first five characters or more of another player’s screen name, you can also do a partial search.
- If a player is found, their name will appear in the results. Just click or tap on the “Send Request” button.
- If they approve the request, you’ll both be friends!
If you’re already in a game and chatting with other players, you can follow these steps to quickly request friendship.
Click or tap on the name of another player in the chatroom to bring up their “Player Card.”
Click or tap on the add “Add Friend” button.
If they approve the request, you’ll both be friends!
Please remember, since the other player has to approve the request, you’ll be on their schedule. If they don’t sign in for a few days or forget to check their requests, you might have to wait a bit.
I sent a friend request, but changed my mind. Can I cancel?
As long as the other player hasn’t already approved it, you can go to your Friend page and cancel the request. Under the “My Requests” category, you’ll see a cancel button next to each request still waiting for a response.
If they already approved your request, you still have the option to remove them as a friend
What if I don’t want to be friends with someone anymore?
You can remove any friend from your list. Once you do this, you will be removed from their list as well. They will not be notified.
You can follow these steps to remove someone:
- Click or tap on the Friends icon in the top navigation bar.
- Click or tap the “View All Friends” button at the bottom of the menu.
- Look through the online and offline lists to find the player you wish to remove.
- Click or tap the “remove” button next to their name.
