The consensus is Garden Blast is a terrible game. I’m a game purist, playing games solely by mastering the game and not succeeding with the help of power ups or any other help purchased by gems. Like so many others, I was stuck on level 200 with over two weeks remaining in the challenge. Without the pressure of an eminent deadline, I just relaxed and tried to keep from getting too frustrated. Playing several dozen times a day, by chance I got a favorable starting layout and won the game without power ups. Persistence and endurance proved it can be done. If you would like to read about my predictions of POGO in the future, click on my name and read my post “Signs of the future” that was written prior to finishing the challenge.
Has anyone finished level 308 without using any power ups? Because I don't think it's possible since the level seems nearly impossible to win without using them. There is a blue color meter? that gives a disco ball once you've matched enough blue squares yet the board never has enough blue squares to fill it. And the few that do appear are on opposite sides of the board. I haved played this level 6 times and have yet to get enough blues to fill the meter up. So it's doubtful I'll finish the Surprise Event Badge which is a shame because I used to like this game. You are driving players that really like this game (being level 308 should tell you how much I liked it) away. Making levels that are hard is one thing but having ones that are nearly impossible is just wrong.
PS You need to update the Help section for this game. It only gives the most basic info about the game and this game is anything but basic.

I am currently stuck on this level and I agree with you. How can I win 30 games for this challenge when you cannot repeat games and this game is so hard anyway. I struggled to get to where I am at now. I also agree with pogo needing more detailed explanation of what you have to do. I did not know what that blue meter was for or how to get rid of it until I read your post.

I haven't known until coming here that the hats actually mean something. I thought to refresh. Definitely need more info on each new level. I can't figure out how to finish the stupid Tree Trunks before running out..- 3 years ago

Hi ~ See what good things can happen when we take a little time to investigate different solutions!? 🤗 🎉 I posted the straw hat hint (how-to-keep Win Streak) on this thread about a week or more ago. That particular "never Quit, always Exit" hint was happily discovered by a fellow Pogo player and is meant to be passed on--so please pass it on! Because. There. Are. No. Game. Instructions.
When GB was first released, I had posted on this very same thread: "It's especially ludicrous when every new "hint" like this has to be discovered without Game Instructions... ." At that time, I was referring to how I purchased boatloads of disco balls for a "Use 200 Disco Balls" badge as a GB beginner.. I was "seeding" the game board with those disco balls hah! It took me months to learn the hard way that type of challenge (then and now) only counted the in-game disco balls used from Win Streak or created in-game. Like almost everybody else's experience: It was an expensive lesson. I revisited EA Answers to help pass along what others shared w me & what I've learned about GB. (Also because I became curious about all those unopened emails EA Answers kept sending to me! 😆)GB Game Goal: Match tiles next to the TREE STUMPS to collect bark pieces. Look for columns of the same pieces (aka tile color) that you can match to collect the maximum amount of bark per move. To complete tree stumps levels, disco balls paired with disco balls need to be detonated. Note: Not every tree stump has to be hit for bark pieces.
I hope to save you time and/or at least the later "neophyte of disco balls" frustration, by letting you know these early tree stump levels only continue with increasing difficulty in future levels.**
The advantage you have now in and of the wide open spaces of early tree stump boards is that one is given a perfect opportunity, with a doable amount to collect and plenty of available moves, allowing one to be able to learn quickly (and without obstacles) to train the brain and eye to scan for possible creation of disco balls. Practice that early tree stump game board without using personal stash of power ups, etc-- just to get familiar with how-to-see-and-create disco balls. The sooner you practice creating disco balls, the sooner it will become almost easy for the harder boards to come...[So what if you don't win the level right away? Once you do win, you will not be back that way again soon; that is for sure!]
If the board doesn't look good, refresh the screen. (Just like Snowbird Sol challenge: 3 Cards Left.-- When apparent there will be less than 3 cards left, one cuts bait & refreshes the screen.) Same with GB; don't stay til the bitter end of defeat.. Every game board presented is not designed to be winnable. Go in with a mindset of doing a couple of practice games without really wanting to win--of course if you do win--that'd be very cool!

Boosters (rockets, bombs, disco balls) must be chosen before you click on the “Play” button. As you know, every game board is “luck of the draw,” and every level (almost) needs to be replayed at least twice or more. That’s the big drag about choosing to use boosters before you can even see the layout of the game board. At least until you have a sizable stash, it’s usually better to know how to create your own boosters in-game.
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
BOOSTERS REMINDER:
5-6 adjacent pieces creates a Rocket.
7-8 adjacent pieces creates a Bomb.
9 or more adjacent pieces creates a Disco Ball.*
*Hammer power up is very useful when there always seems to be that one tile in the way of the certain amount of tiles needed to create boosters.
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~I hope this helps you as well as other players 🐞~ Good Luck!
Postscript: Copy & Paste useful bits for your own future reference (and to pass on).
**For example: Level 329 has 8 tree stumps split in half (2 stumps in front of 2 stumps) in two separate spots with a 6-tile space between them--and obstacles are on those 6 tiles--on the bottom row with obstacles galore above them--set in an extremely hard-to-get-to place. The amount of "Bark to be Collected" is in the high 40's with mid 20's Available Moves). Notorious level! ~ ☘️
- 3 years ago@dream94wwpey ~ Hi, I'm fairly sure I went ahead & used a power up at the end of 308 level (w fireflies)--usually b/c I'm super close to the end & just want to be done w it already. It appears there's not enough blues--and you don't a need a ton of blues to drop the disco ball--I do believe if--as you go--you strategically click on rockets or bombs (better if clicked as a pair but we can't always get lucky) to take out the few blues you see and the fireflies, that'd be enough to drop the disco ball. Then if you're able to pair that disco ball w rocket to blast off near as possible to the upper shelves (better than clear down deep in the hole), it is winnable w/o personal power ups. If you are able to start off with a rocket & bomb or rocket & disco ball before game start,* you "might" only have to play that level once to complete. I usu just plan on playing every new level 2-3x before deciding if & where it def needs additional firepower. You might already know the following; however as there no game instructions, I'll post just in case:
*IMPORTANT HINT: --NEVER "QUIT" the GB game---instead always hit Reload button up on search bar to refresh the page. The reason why is because of Ant-tony's straw hat hanging on the fence post. If you win successively (I think 3 games; not sure!), ribbons are attached to the hat. If you QUIT (instead of clicking your browser's reload button) , the straw hat is again "nude" & win streak has to start all over.
.Keeping the ribboned straw hat ensures that every game board thereafter will be granted on-the-house power ups and/or boosters at game start. So you want to keep that hat! ~ IMO, all levels ending with a zero (and some of the 200 levels) could always use an extra rocket paired with disco ball before the game starts. ~ Good luck!
