I'm having a similar, problem, I think.  At least, the launcher angle is frequently stuck.  To be more specific:

What I do:

• aim a stone and launch itl normally -- when I first start a game, I don't have this problem.
• move my finger on my trackpad to aim the next stone

What I expect:

• the angle of launch to change and the stream of dots to move left or right

What actually happens:

• more than half the time, nothing happens; the stream of dots stays at the same angle

Work arounds; after I do any of these, I can adjust the launch angle again:

• click on a different launcher; note that moving the ball to a different launcher using the arrow keys does not help
• click on a space to save a stone
• also:  click on the launcher you're currently using, even though it doesn't seem to do anything

Other information you should know:

• I'm using a Mac Pro running MacOS Mojave, version 10.14.6.
• I'm using Firefox Browser 81.0 but I noticed something similar in Safari but it was harder to work around; I think the angle froze on nearly every launch.
• I use the built in track pad to point, drag, etc; I do not have a touch screen.
• This problem is fairly new; Phlinx II was fine a couple months ago in Firefox; I probably haven't played it since the last challenge was offered for it. I first noticed this problem last Wednesday.
• Most Pogo games are working fine (only other glitches I've noticed is the crossword still times out when I'm typing, and rotating puzzle pieces in Jigsaw puzzle hunter game is still odd).

Edited to add last work around.  Note that this one is key because in most of the night boards, you don't have either of the other options and it makes the easier night scenes very hard indeed without it.

Again, this is still happening.

One thing I didn't think to mention above.  This problem tends to happen on every other shot.  If you don't use the workarounds I mentioned above, it goes like this:

1. shot is normal.
2. shot is same direction as #1
3. shot can be adjusted
4. shot is same as #3
5. etc

If I use the work around, it's more like this:

1. shot is normal.
2. direction is stuck; click on a launcher & shoot normally
3. direction is stuck again; click on launcher & continue
4. can shoot normally
5. direction is stuck; click on a launcher & shoot normally
6. direction is stuck again; click on launcher & continue
7. can shoot normally
8. etc

It's probably not quite that regular, but after using the work around, the next time, the direction is often stuck again.

To be honest, I've used this workaround so much now, it almost feels like part of the game, though an annoying part.  Can't you fix this?  Note that until last fall, this didn't happen at all.

It's been well over 2 years now and I'm still having this problem.  Any status update?
