Any ideas for the next update? (Dec 2021)

If you are here, then welcome, at first.

So, we are waiting patiently for the next update, and what's your expectation? Lemme know in the comments.

Since it's December, I think BuildIt should make something unique to this game, like community events with plumbobs where everyone can win some rewards together. What do you think?

Also, we are definitely getting 1-3 event tracks. What rewards do you want to get from there? Any others way you can think of to 'get' event points?

Don't forget the CoM Season 19 is coming. What are your favorites from the previous winter-related buildings that you want them to re-run in this season?
Any others things you want to share?

It's just a fan's section, I'm not from EA.

See you soon,

Derek, aka Larassons

  • Hello @larassons

I personally would like to see the return of the Snowflake challenge events, where a snowflake  icon would appear in your city, you would complete the tasks required and receive the opportunity to "win" one of the rare and limited edition items and/or buildings. True: You didn't always receive the item you really, really wanted, (at least not in the first few tries) and the tasks weren't always easy to complete, but when you FINALLY got the item or building you wanted you felt a sense of pride and accomplishment.

I would also REALLY LIKE to see the return of falling snow this winter, in all regions as well as in Capital City.

Thank you for initiating the topic of conversation.  I do hope others will participate as well.

  • Hello @larassons

I think we will mostly see returning Christmas buildings rather than new ones. I say that because we got a lot of buildings in this Halloween update so I don’t think they will develop many new buildings. That is ok with me because there are still plenty of returning buildings I want to acquire.

I agree there will likely be event tracks running through the majority of December but the thing I want most this Christmas update is for them to bring the Winter Forests back in a way you can purchase them indefinitely because I would love to get tons of them.

For seasons 19 and 20 I don’t think they will be winter related because from what I read Season 11 was winter themed and it wasn’t very popular. So the season could be anything. I think one of them will be an OMEGA/future theme just because it has never happened before and would be something new.

A huge community event would actually be interesting if everyone in the game has to work together to achieve some goal (Hopefully Winter Trees) before Christmas or something.

Edit: Another thing I hope they have during Christmas time is the “Welcome 2021 Offer” except now it be 2022 because I really like Joya no Kane and this year I can actually buy it.

I am really excited for this update

An OMEGA themed event would be awesome!👍

We actually have done Community events before; I believe the most recent one was soon after the Monster was introduced. Many mayors participated and it really was a lot of fun.

  • The ideas from me and people around me (some from Reddit) about the next/future Season:

    • Snow-related or Winter Olympics themed
    • Modern landmarks (Louvre, Space Needle, etc.)
    • Greece/Aegean Sea, Blue and white building
    • Spring Special season like autumn (Flowers, rice fields, etc)
    • Megastructures (DAMS, radio telescopes, aircraft carriers, Beijing national stadium, etc.) - from National Geographic
    • OMEGA themed or futuristic sci-fi style
    • Ancient Oriental Architecture (Temple of Heaven, Terracotta Army, Gyeongbokgung Palace, etc.)
    • Movie-related buildings (King Kong on tower, Grand Budapest Hotel, etc.)
    • Russian Architecture (Kremlin, St. Basil's Church)
    • Indian Temple series

In a word, the theme should be distinctive and fresh. That's all I can think of, and of course EA surprises us from time to time. By the way, the next update probably has something to do with club war, as it hasn't been updated for a long time. Personally, I prefer city design to war, but a lot of people play it.

It's sad to hear that CoM S11 is not popular enough to make S19 or/and S20 winter-themed. But a season which is OMEGA-related will definitely amaze lots of players.

I don't think so for the part you said there weren't a lot of buildings in this winter, because Christmas is definitely a very important time for those devs, and they need money, so they MAY have some new and old buildings in those packs (especially the ones everyone love), in order to have a greater performance in this peak season.

  • It’s not completely guaranteed that season 19 or 20 won’t be winter themed, that was based on how much negative criticism I saw about season 11 but maybe they will try it again.

I also agree that there would be plenty of buildings during Christmas except I think they will probably be mostly older ones with a few new ones because Halloween had like 6 new buildings so I figure they don’t have enough time to make many new buildings but hopefully I am wrong and there will be plenty of new buildings.

  • I would like to see a period where the sole focus is about improving existing core features or bringing in quality-of-life improvements; some parts of the game haven't changed at all since I first started all the way back in August 2016.

For me, adding content is not analogous to improving.

The unequivocal truth is that they don't read social media gossip nor they don't read reviews (or even reply to acknowledge) on apps stores, so I can't help the feeling that nothing we say will be heard because since how often has anything we specifically asked/said actually directly resulted in a change the game itself?

    These are my two cents:

    • Noticeable improvements for the Global Trade HQ, such limiting specific item frequency, filtering by item, automatic buying/selling (based on current storage inventory)
    • CoM to be moved to an opt-in model and discontinue compulsory enrolment
    • Stop forcing users into UI panels via "mail messages"

Look, this is EA we're talking about here; at this moment in time, they have been viewed by the media in recent times to have a company-wide, anti-consumer attitude problem. None of the staff and developers on these official platforms are interested, and that's the undeniable truth.
