BuildIt takes all the fun out of SimCity and turns it into a boring grindfest.

You really have to be someone who does nothing but watch the  screen 24/7.

Everything is far too expensive. City taxes help but you have to grind so hard for some time just to get tax revenue to respectable levels. Selling inventory generates income, but the most cost effective method I've found is selling wood and steel in bundles of 10 and it requires significant time investment. Grinding is one thing, but sitting there for an hours straight to build and sell items for a measly return of anywhere from 5-7k is simply not fun. It takes some real world money to really get things moving, but that's not the problem. I don't mind paying for a game I enjoy- BUT THAT'S JUST IT. Paying for a game is one thing, but I certainly mind getting nickel and dimed to death for minimal reward.

The expansion squares are ridiculously small at an equally ridiculous cost.

Seriously, THERE'S A REASON EA IS CONSIDERED THE WORST COMPANY IN THE COUNTRY, and this game exemplifies. It's the absolute worst example of "Freemium" that I've ever seen, and to see EA to use such a bush league model for such a highly revered title is bothersome. This game is designed to elicit microtransactions in the worst way, and the most despicable aspect of this mess is that you still get a fraction of the real SimCity experience.

A full blown SimCity for mobile platforms could have sold big with the right marketing at a premium price, but EA decided to go with the bush league option. Great job.

    TL;DR version -
Didn't like the game mechanics so now I'm mad at EA.

Damn man! This is exactly my issue.

    1) watch the screen 24/7.

    2)Everything is far too expensive.

    3) City taxes barely help as to upgrade land or storage etc costs ALOT of money.

    4) Selling inventory generates income, >

4.1) Wood and steel in bundles of 10 at atleast 50% off. sells and generates about 300 every 5minutes.

4.2) (if items don't sell you have a full inventory.)

    5) Market costs you to delete your items forever losing all intention of profit.

    6) Market is a mess, no search function, economy haywire.

    7) Random building upgrade "prices" which are pathetic and enver meet the size of the building.

    8) Takes too long for actions, nor can you stack them up, when I'm off to bed I wouldnt mind stacking up to factorise alot of minerals and chemicals, however chemicals sell for as much as 2 lots of wood and once it's done that's it, within 2hours you have to be back on.

There's alot more and EA need a suggestion system ingame where people level 20 can review peoples requests and if they pass the L20 user screening test then they're passed on.  Like this, Player Suggests > Sends to 5 L20+ players > Pass/Fail is recorded in percentage > 3/5 Pass and it's sent to EA, > 2/5 and it fails, Player is notified of failed suggestion.

It's no longer about building; it's all about buying and selling. Not why I started playing SimCity.

Not much to say here except, it is what it is. This is a Freemium builder, not a remake of Sim City. I agree that I'd rather play a real version of SimCity ported to the mobile platform (there was one, by the way, but it was very broken and EA stopped making updates to it despite keeping it in the App Store)

That said, this is the best Freemium builder in the mobile space, there are very few that actually make you plan your city layout, most of them are mindless tapping games or time management games
