Club Wars bubble issue
My club (I'm not the president) just lost to a team who got ahead in points and then just left all their citys bubbled so we could not attack them. We lost by only a few points, is there a way to get ...
22bmx,
My response was not directed to you, but obviously you took exception so I would sincerely appreciate you educating me so I won’t be ignorant (would hate for the money spent on my degrees to go to waste)...
Please explain to me the breakdown of the 8 hour proposal, what does it include? Help me understand.
Since you didn’t read my revised proposal I thought I would make it simple to find:
Day 1 - 12 hour bubble (as championed by MT) to repair your city before it is automatically repaired and no war items wii be earned.
- If you have not launched an attack your city will remain bubbled until the mayor makes repairs or until the end of war (not all club members elect to participate in the war game and the club should not be punished more than the initial attacks)
- following the 1st auto repair, the 2nd time the club is bubbled the mayor has an 8 hour window to repair their city and receive the war items or it will be auto repaired and no war items...
- the 3rd time the mayor has 4 hours to repair or the it will be auto repaired and no war items.
- once a club has been auto repaired 3 times they will not be auto repaired again, taking my teammate Mag’s suggestion they will be left open, from the mayor’s perspective they will see no further damage (like when in the protection of the bubble) and can not launch attacks until the repairs are made and war items are earned...but unlike the bubble they can be constantly attacked until the end of the war.
Day 2 - In the last 12 hours if you haven’t been auto repaired you still have an 8 hour window to repair...until the last 2 hours which you get a 15 minute bubble to repair. (only the ones that haven’t been auto repaired 3 times)
So once you educate me on the 8 hour proposal, how about provide feedback on the above proposal and tell me what you would change.
Thanks!
Well for one, your degrees mean absolutely nothing to me. Whether your degrees are a waste of money is dependent on what you do with them not what some person behind a keyboard thinks. For all I know you may have a degree in dog walking so bringing them up are a waste of time.
As to the point at hand, it's best to keep things simple. I had suggested that building auto repair after being damaged after 8 hours, but the umbrella can last up to 10 hours. If any buildings had not auto repaired then the city would open but not at full health.
You can say I don't take time zones into account here but then I question your math. The maximum time zone split is only 12 hours not 24. It may be 5am for you, but it's 5pm for me. So if I attack you , really assuming a day shift or weekend, you will most likely be up in a couple hours. Well within the proposed 8 hour building repair. This could be an issue if you just went to bed and were attacked and then slept more than 8 hours, or just started a work shift with no chance of checking in through out the day.
For me personally I have spotty access so I would be one to suffer the workday scenario. That is the game. Some people can be on all the time, others can not. Life is not fair.
The 12 hour proposal with changing rules throughout the war is way to complex. It would be very frustrating for people to learn and remember and then try to figure out what rules apply at the point of the war blah blah..... Simple is better.
PinnacleValley, you say I did not take time zones into account but then you shortnen my potential 10 hour window to an 8 hour hard window and then even more to a 4 hour window. That may be fine for a top tier club but not for the masses. You are not even going to let people sleep with that.
The ability to attack a city and score points while they are under the shield I don't agree with at all. Part of the strategy is strategic attacks, I have not attacked an available city so a team mate could get the points towards a chest. Team play is a big part of an effective team.
Then you mention a 15 minute repair bubble! Really? I assume that you sit at a desk all day with your degrees and play simcity. All the things PV has complained about with my 8-10 hour proposal is not only included in the 12hour proposal but pushed even farther.
Great to hear back from you 22bmx although it’s been 8 months which is a little off pudding but it’s cool. I had to go back and find the post you referred to...for the record the reference about my degrees was a feeble attempt at tongue and cheek humor but it’s amazing how accurate you are. My Bachelors Degree was in dog walking, the Masters in under water basket weaving and my PHD is in BS. (just kidding) Unfortunately, I don’t get to spend nearly as much time at my desk as I would like, way to many meetings (although I have been known to find a corner in a conference room and post in this forum), way too many airports, vendor locations and customer visits to allow that....regardless.
Much has changed since that post last July, the run and hide crowd has pretty much taken the air out of the game which you’re keenly aware of and way to many competitors have taken sabbaticals or left the game all together. The 15 minute bubble was an off the cuff suggestion just to start a discussion, it’s a whole lot better than watching for someone to come out, in fact I would be in favor of no bubbles, no umbrellas, no jackpots vs. what we have today...but that’s just me. I was naive enough to think folks actually would want to play what they signed up for and it’s clearly evident I was wrong. Not the 1st time, sadly probably not the last time either. Take care.
I also am not a fan of the jackpots. They have really slowed down the wars because now people are staying bubbled until they or a team mate can come up with one. Coming out and attacking without a JP could actually lose the war for your team, and with war bucks and green bucks on the line that could get you booted from a team. JP's were a bad idea. I really don't mind the bubbles, I do find them useful. While I am away I don't have to participate. Unbubbling is basically putting myself back on the board. I thing motivation should be improved however. One option is all the medals that players can win mean nothing. Adding value to those would encourage more action, but upping the rewards for losing would help as well IMO. With less risk there would be less fear of losing and encourage more risk. The divide between winning and losing could easily grow as the team progresses through levels. There simply needs to be more motivation to increase the number of attacks used. Lowering the cost of war items would be the simplest and easiest fix.

I do like your idea to make the game badges have a value! That would add meaning to the teammates who play very hard! Good idea!
Just a general observation, is it really necessary to repeat someone’s post...especially when it’s right below. I would think addressing the mayor by name is sufficient. I believe it to be unnecessarily redundant. Thanks!
