EA has created a game for the ages. One that provides different ways to play. It is creative, challenging, interesting, fun, and sometimes exciting. It is a game to play in a spare moment. It is a game that you can put down and pick up days or weeks later and you are soon back on track. It is a game that will never be 'finished'. There are always new innovations and challenges introduced. There are even improvements where some of the game mechanics have not served players well in the past, so someone is clearly thinking about the game play. For me, the challenge to complete the COM is the main objective, and yes in the past I have spent some real money to attain in game benefits depending on their value to me. Recently there have been changes described in the community manager's post that are a mix of good and confusing. I think the assignments are far better structured, which has motivated me to re-engage with the game. So well done at that count. But it is clear that many many long term players are not happy, which is probably an understatement. They are actually really angry, and feel seriously let down and why? Because the introduction of a cap on progress in the COM has created a torrent of vitriol that I have never seen before on these forums, and I cannot but empathise with these views. There needs to be a purpose, a reason, a target, to play for. Whether its reaching the maximum points in the COM, or the Weekly Contest, there is a goal to be striven for. If not, then there is no point in engaging with the game at the same level. Last week I reached the weekly cap in about 3 days, and have seen no point in playing further as it would be a waste of time - I have no way to progress further along the COM pathway. So yes, I am confused. What is the point of this? A game developer that actively prevents me from making their game worth playing...really? I know the world is sinking into stupidity and chaos but please, leave my favourite game out of this! So I have stopped playing. I definitely won't be spending any money on COM rewards because I can't finish it now - it would be literally pointless and so I'll slide down the leaderboard which of course leads to a lower weekly cap and inevitably an even worse situation. I have seen no coherent articulation of this new feature from EA anywhere, merely the usual marketing 'guff' that accompanies new features and that's the most disappointing outcome of all. If there is a Community Manager within EA who thinks this game is now better than it was before these changes, then maybe explaining how that would work for me and all the other Mayors who appear to feel really let down by this would be at the very least a respectful gesture. Until then, after 7 or 8 years of playing...I feel let down, ignored, taken advantage of, betrayed (too strong?), insulted, used and so....I'm out.
Wow, well done now that’s a really good constructive criticism could not of said that any better, so thankyou for that.
i am a long time player and have numerous items in storage which I received doing mayors challenges etc of which I don’t have the room to place them even tho I have all my regions opened.
these last upgrades are seriously degrading for us the long time players and I see by reading the comments in the forums no one likes them either!
hopefully after this Chicago debacle the mayors challenge will be put back to how it was or at least some semblance of the previous challenges coz I am seriously looking at playing Design City as that is a real challenge to grow the city.

Appreciated, thank you. It's a real shake of the head moment this one. I never leave feedback as a rule but was so taken aback by these changes I had to make a comment. It's a stunning game with so much to engage with, so this has left me baffled!
