Epic project bugged?

The last 2 epic projects are causing me to consider packing this game in. I only ever get 2 tasks to complete, each one only giving me one star. None give me three like they used to. So I've had to make for example three ice creams for one star, or two baseball hats for one star. Takes forever for this single star there is no way to get anywhere near 80 for the next level it's pointless. Is my game bugged or am I missing the point?

When a building is selected for Epic Projects, it chooses a specialization which is within range of that building. You can refresh the plans to get another specialization (you can first move the building within range of another specialization). Once you start the Project, only those specialization buildings will get tasks. If it's Education Epic project, then only Education buildings will get tasks. If you look at those specialization buildings, each are worth a fixed number of tokens. Eg, University is the only Education building worth 3 tokens.

Keep in mind that when you place Specialization Buildings in your city there is a note in the information pertaining to that building called, "Epic Points".  It typically reads as follows:

    • Name of Building
    • Area
    • Boost
    • Spic Points
    • Price

The "Epic Points" will be either 1, 2, or 3.  These buildings will always and ONLY award their respective point value during Epic Project events. So, a Grade School, being an "Epic Points" build of 1 Star will only award 1 Star point, no matter what the type & quantity of the item requested is.  An Expo Center will only award 2 "Epic Points".  The Empire State Building will always and only reward 3 "Epic Points" per Task.

Placing higher quality Specialization Buildings in your city will make achieving higher tier Epic Buildings much easier.  Of course, having a stronger production and greater City Storage for pre-Epic Project preparations goes a long way too.  Also, plan on starting an Epic Project with around 125k-100k Simoleons.
