What you are looking at is the additional season rewards that you get depending on how you place at the end of the whole season. It's an additional reward over and above the individual rewards for each submission, and is based on your cumulative score across all submissions for the current season.

The gold keys are not rewarded for each submission. You haven't missed out on anything.

In your next submission, you will see that the votes you receive are cumulative with those already received, allowing you to move higher up the league (or lower down, perhaps) to try for a better reward at the end.
