Completely agree with Chris555222....
Once in a while, when I refresh the GT, I will see other items show up, but it was definitely when I got higher in the levels or they just changed the code and it's just not working.
Another thought I had was that certain players have calculated the "biggest bang for their buck" and realized that donuts/watches have the smallest amount "labor and cost" and the highest market price. Thoughts?
The other school of thought I've seen on this forum is that the market place is working correctly now. Well that might be true too. But the problem is that the supply of these items is WAY out of proportion for their demand and thus flooded the market. One way to fix this would set a timer on the items you place in the marketplace. Unlike other marketplaces in some games, these items don't expire, though they may get bought by Daniel. This could lead to stale inventory leading to our flooding of donuts.
- Anonymous11 years agoYou know what absolutely UNACCEPTABLE about this Global Trade change is that it fundamentally changes the game play. And in doing so, all of us who paid for in-app purchases have effectively had that real money stolen from us. It is like an advertisement known as a bait-and-switch. many people have spent money only to have that which they used as the foundation for an informed purchase altered. EA needs to issue refunds for any in app purchases made before the Global Trade rules were changed, or else a savy trial attorney seems to have a decent class-action lawsuit.
- Anonymous11 years agochris could u please elaborate how is ea stealing money with that change? I'm able to get what I need now w a bit of luck. this change made the market much better.
if u are not looking for expansion storage or Vu items then I don't know what u r doing in the market. anything other than that can be produced. I'm getting lots of storage items now without infuriating popups about items not being available anymore.
cheer up dude- Anonymous11 years agoStealing was an inaccurate choice of words (perhaps). Perhaps "unjust", "unreasonable" or "mischaracterized" are more applicable words. Anyone who likes the Global Market will likely not choose to objectively see this point, but I will try and explain: Making in-app purchases is an investment in the game. When one makes an investment, choices are made based on expectations. It is not a reasonable expectation that a core pillar of a game will be changed once released. Therefore, whether intentional or not, there was a deceptive effect when offering in-app purchases for something that would later change. For example, the monolith of in-app sales is seen in Clash of Clans. Suppose Clash of Clans sold someone diamonds / gems to use in the battle game, but thereafter, the Clash of Clans makers changed the game so that to expand, instead of winning battles, you advanced in the game by planting pink daisies. The player who purchased in-app gems to use in advancing his or her battle success would feel disenfranchised or taken advantage of by such an alteration in game play. I acknowledge, EA is in a difficult spot. However, there are fundamental online expectations. EA would not change the war zone settings in Battlefield to riding rides in Disneyworld. Even if it made the game function better, that would fundamentally change what purchasers expected when making purchases. I belabor imperfect analogies, but the point is at least made.
