- Anonymous11 years agoHaving an option to choose between factory items, store items and special items (expansion/disaster) will make the market much more balanced and provide actual stock for purchase by MANY MORE players, opposed to complete randomness that is happening now.

any type of filter would do wonders. With the limited random market options, finding specific materials and purchasing them in a timely manner is increasingly frustrating

The problems I have with it....
1. It is constantly crashing and sending me back to home screen.
2. Every item I want to buy it sold before I FINALLY get to it!
3. The loading time and travel times are crazy long, even on high speed!
I agree with a lot of players....have a different system....
A search by item....
A search by price...
Why travel to another city to buy? It takes too long! Add a buy button to buy when in the market!
- 10 years agoActually I agree with you, but these suggestions are irrelevant when hundreds of shopping trips on the trade center automatically show "sold" for every item displayed -- no matter the type or the quantity. What I have learned to do is to select any item and hope the seller has other items listed, possibly including the one I want. This works SOME of the time and is still very time consuming but better than the frustration of having no option to buy the item you want.
You would think that with hundreds of players having.so many problems with it EA would have made the changes by now! I am sure thousands have quit and many more will if this is
not improved -- first with the basic trade center, then with healthy suggestions such as yours. - Anonymous10 years agoI agree, complete randomness is BS. Add a search engine to the development platform of the global trade market so we can search for items we want to buy or add a category option. And, loose the damn timer! Simply put a refresh button permenantly there & when you want a new batch of items you hit REFRESH.
Simple stuff right.

How about turning the trade depot into an auction house? It could work like this:
1. You search for the item you are looking to buy (type it in, select from a list, etc)
2. It shows you how many of that item are currently being offered up for sale. (Lets say 500 nails are currently for sale on the market)
3. A 30 second auction runs. You place a bid and whoever bids the highest in the next 30 seconds wins the item(s). You are bidding a § amount on a quantity of the item. You bid against other players desiring the same quantity (lot size). For example: You bid §40 for 10 Nails, any other player looking to buy 10 Nails at that time places their bid. If in the next 30 seconds your §40 is the highest, you win. If another player bids §50, they win. There should be a cap on the lot size to keep it simple, (ie. You can't bid on more than 10 of an item at a time.) As for the sellers, items are put up for sale in the order they were posted.
Now that they sold, there are only 490 Nails on the market until someone posts more up for sale. As the quantity available of a particular item diminishes the bids will increase naturally. Supply and demand. A minimum (starting bid) should be determined for each item (to protect the seller) Maybe base it on averge price paid?
Right now the trade depot is terrible. It is almost impossible to buy anything. Items are almost always already sold out by the time you click on it and you are taken to that players depot. Also, as for the sellers, there is no reason to sell an item below the maximum price.
- Anonymous10 years agoHi all, I wondered why there were so many people saying things were sold in hq when they get to a city, as for me since the last update I was seeing no such problem. Question, are you using WiFi connection.? Reason I ask is today I'm not on WiFi and I get this issue everytime I get into a city... I think reason I never seen before is due to being in WiFi and a super fast fibre optic broadband.
- Anonymous10 years agoAbsolute garbage, to the point that i feel like giving up. Allow us to filter our search. This new 30 second delay is more of a pissoff for * that im not looking for.

Diablohell, I couldn't possibly agree with you MORE! It is utterly ridiculous they title the button: "Edit Sale". When, in reality, the ONLY option they allow, is to DELETE the Item! I mean, $&^%*%*&^(*???
Anyway, I have been infuriated about this since Day-1. I have been playing this game since the beginning, despite only just now set up my profile on here, LOL!

All Players:
This thread still remains on this forum? The original post was January 11, 2015.
Two and one half years of suggestions and complaints about the same topic. Would anyone expect that EA will change the problems plaguing the GTHQ. Not a chance. For if they did; it would make the game easier to play without spending real money.
However, if all you players have noticed EA may have done just that - alleviated some of the issues.
Ever since the COM (contest of mayors) started the GTHQ's now gets flooded with items that are or can be useful in taking your city forward because of contest assignments. The only two options to rid your self of mass produced items from COM assignments IS IN FACT - the GTHQ's and Mayor Club trading.
These two facets of the game have created an opportunity for the player to obtain necessary items to move forward. The last 2-1/2 years have been a journey. In my city I have spent close to $4,000,000 Simoleans at the GTHQ's on various items. How do I know that total spent? Master Trader achievement award at $2.5 million spent and the rest I keep track of in a spreadsheet every day.
You can purchase what you need! Not always easy.... but not quite as hard as it once was.

Two problems with this attempt at capitalism. It's socialism when there's a price cap(minimum as well as maximum), and you can't easily just trash the sale when you charge to much . Our cities have garbage dumps, and we should be able to use them for our unsellable items.
