I don't care how many times this has been brought up. There is no reason why we have to spend so much time trying to buy something that we need on the Global Trade HQ. You either have to be a bot, or extremely lucky after 20+ tries to get anything that isn't metal or wood, and that's because it seems like things are taken mere milliseconds after you see the posting.
To say the trade is just fast-paced or you have to get there first is a lazy response. I don't think most of us would even complain as much if the game servers updated the postings as fast as they're gone. In the time it takes to load someone's city (which I don't care to see half the time) the item is already gone. FIX THIS!!!
And while you're at it, add a search tool and categories/filters. Without it this joke of an auction house is just a sloppy, lazy attempt at making an economy.
- Anonymous11 years agoHello everyone. I just replied to an email I received a response from customer service on. This was my reply. I decided to do a little experiment and count how many times I went to the market, how many times I tried to buy an item, and how many items I was actually successful buying. The numbers will sadden you...
Hello. I just tested the global market out and have some numbers for you. I tried looking through the market 100 times for shovels, hammers, nails, bricks, and grass. Out of that 100 times, I clicked on 26 items to try to buy them so that's about a 25% rate of finding an item I was looking for. Out of those 26 times I tried to buy something, I was successful 6 times. That's less than a 25% success rate of trying to buy something after going to that item I found in the market. Out of 100 tries surfing through the market, I was successful 6 times. I purchased nails 4 times and grass 2 times. That's a 6% success rate of trying to buy an item from the global market. This is average. I hope you can now get a picture and hopefully understand how frustrating it is trying to buy an item from the global market. Please try to get the devs to implement my idea of an item search. PLEASE! I'm confident that this would make everyone much less frustrated with this game. I know I would be much less frustrated and would enjoy this game a lot more. I'm getting to the end of my patience with this game and if something isn't fixed soon to alleviate this issue with the market, I will have to give up on this game and look for another game to play. I've already spent money on this game twice and would spend more in the future if the market was better. If it doesn't get fixed, I won't be spending any more money. I'm not spending a dime until the market is ether fixed, or I just quit playing.- Anonymous11 years agoHow sad is this? Out of 1 tap of the market, my results included 10 people selling glass and 5 selling chemicals. Neither of which I need at all. There really needs to be a filter. Badly. The higher level you get, the worse it gets because more items start showing up which thins your results. 10 different results for glass and 5 different results for chemicals. Just ridiculous! I just want some bricks and shovels..... Ugh....

I have just timed how long it takes from selecting a product I want to buy up 'til the moment when I reach the trade depot and the item is either available or it's already sold : 10,3 seconds on my Nexus 7 with excellent internet connection.
This does not include loading the global Tade HQ and searching for the item, neither does it include traveling back to my city and entering the HQ again.
I also ran another test where I wanted to buy bricks (any amount, any price). I quit after exactly ten minutes of constantly refreshing the Trade HQ and searching for bricks. During those ten minutes, I visited 5 cities (the only 5 selling bricks out of numerous HQ refreshs), but I was always too late.
This just demonstrates how useless the trade center is.
I hope EA addresses the elephant in the room and will announce a trade center update very soon!
