GTHQ Mountain Items
Am I the only one that is seeing glut of Mountain expansion items every time they search the Global Trade? I literally just has one where every slot was a Mountain Expansion item. It's getting a litt...

I read a post a while back from one of the EA moderators here that the Global Market is purely based on Supply and demand. The Beach and Mountain flood came as, what I think is, an unintended side affect of the Mayor's contest. Everyone, myself included, is dumping their beach and mountain items to make room for other things.
The only down side of that is that what you get seems to be triggered by what you don't have in way of special items, which is why it's hard to get storage items when you have 28 of each of them, but you're constantly getting more mountain items. Since everyone dumped them in the Market, everyone is getting an abundance of them because of their low supply. Although I have noticed an increase in VU items since the Mayor's contest update, so maybe they do have some flexibility and need to tone back the amount of beach and mountain items they're spawning. I'd rather see more storage and land items.
I'm half tempted to take a few weeks off from the contests and just save money like crazy to buy up all the mountain and beach items till mine are maxed out. It is a prime time to expand those areas to their max.

Regarding maxing out on beach / mountain items: I had had a similar thought, but let me ask you this: If you no longer need these items because the expansions are done, do you no longer see them in the GTHQ, or receive them via gift awards?

I don't know. I only know one person who has maxed mountain in one of my facebook groups, but when I asked the same question they never responded. ☹️ I would love to know the answer to this question as well. It can be the determining factor of maxing it out or stopping one short of max.
I know a lot of people have maxed their storage prior to the max upping to 500. Did they stop receiving storage items? I would hope that those items would continue to come as it would certainly help their existence in the market.

I think it's because you constantly get those items whether or not you need them. So you go and sell them to keep them out of your Storage. On the other hand as soon as you do decide to add another zone and need those items, they stop coming up. So off I go to the market to get them. I recently added a section of each in less than a day between Mayor contests. Right now I wan't another piece of ground and can't get any Dozer exhausts at all.
But sooner or later we are all going to be maxed out on mountain space and beach space and you can't just keep collecting those items.

Well I've expanded my entire map so I dont need Dozer Blades, Wheels or Exhaust but I still get them as rewards and I still see them in the GTHQ every once and a while
