Hotspot Upgrades

How do you upgrade hotSpot? Either in Capital City or Cactus Canyon?

  • Hello @unknowns2525

The Hotspots for Cactus Canyon are:

    Education - Secret Research Lab

    Transportation - Big Rig Route

    Entertainment - UFO Landing Site

    Gambling - Oasis Casino

You may already have one or more of these buildings placed. If you don't yet have any of them placed, there are minimum population requirements for each building, and Regional Currency (Cactus Simoleons) must be used to purchase/upgrade the buildings.

    I hope this helps.

I believe you're referring to Golden Tickets? (Image attached.)

If you run out of or complete all of your assignments, you can exchange your golden ticket(s) for an additional task(s) to boost your score.

If you have additional questions, please feel free to begin a new topic.

    Thanks!

  • I wish these didn't show up as CoM tasks! They are expensive and in some cases not possible as your region needs 3000k popuation

I think the idea is to entice or encourage mayors to build cities. After all,  at its core, SimCity BuildIt IS a city building game.

I do agree with you that achieving a population of 3,000,000 can seem overwhelming at first, but it can be done over time. You also always have the option of placing a new Regional Hotspot, and of course, upgrading that one will require less population and less regional currency to upgrade. I personally choose to upgrade all until their Epic Point value is 4, then I place them in storage, (to save space), and placed new ones. When I do an Epic project in the Region, (especially when Hotspots are worth double points), I bring all of them out of storage. That's just me, but it might work for someone else as well. I don't do it this way to avoid building my city, I do it because I enjoy competing in CoM and as we agree, it takes time (and tons of resources) to achieve some of the population requirements to do an upgrade once you've gotten to a certain level. When my Region is "population ready" I fully intend to bring my half-finished Hotspots out of storage and upgrade them fully. The animation on some of them is really cool!😎

Have fun and thanks for your input!

    Hi @StepL561

In order to upgrade a Limestone Cliffs Hotspot you must have Limestone Cliffs unlocked. If you already have it unlocked, terrific! If you need to unlock Limestone Cliffs, click on the airplane in the lower-left of your screen and make sure you have met the population requirements to unlock it, then unlock. You will need to have or earn Lime Simoleons and have a certain population to unlock and place any Limestone Cliffs Hotspot.

    Limestone Cliffs Hotspots are:

    •Education - Martial Arts School

    •Transportation - Tuk Tuk Station

    •Entertainment - Tea House

    •Gambling - Mahjong Hall

If you haven't yet placed one of these buildings in your Capital City or in one of your Regions make sure you have enough Lime Simoleons to buy, place, and upgrade once. If you already have one of these buildings placed or in storage, locate it and upgrade it once. No matter which Region you place it in it will cost Lime Simoleons to upgrade it.

I hope this information is helpful.
