Let's discuss Epic points!

Hey Mayors!

Just had a "Duh" moment and realized the epic points listed for each item in Parks, Beach, Mountain, Entertainment, etc. correspond to what's offered when playing an "Epic Project" For instance, Surfer Beach is worth 1 epic point but the Lighthouse is worth 2.

So has anyone fir hired out how many of the various 3 point builds are needed in order to attain 160 points in a day? I was thinking 10, but that seems a little high.

Of course, if I keep seeing requests for multiples of the same item (mine have been ladders, frozen yogurt, and popcorn) I fear I will not have enough time to produce all the items in time.

I would buy them but only in the last half a day has the Global Market been purged of Beach items. ( I fear the Mountain items will end up in excess in the coming months.) Still, it's a lot to ask to hope for 10 to 20 of the same long production time item.

Maybe 5 Epic points available per request for buildings like the Eiffel Tower or Himenji Castle, which cost 40-60 keys, could be the top tier. Then work back corresponding with keys spent.

Just some thoughts! I'm eager to add some fancy buildings to my city. They increase the land value and I'm eager to get my city above 1.3 million Sims I'm at right now.

Thoughts?

Thanks!

so far i've only see 3 epic tokens for highest buildings. so i think thats max. i did first to projects but im reluctant to start 3rd because it suggest mountain buildings which i have very few,

the more speciality buildings you have for that project the more chances to finish more tasks you have, because while you might get stuck having to build 5 yogurts or some other hard item, you can keep doing easier tasks. tasks pop up again on the same building after a little while.

so far i havent managed to get to 160 on any project, but im happy with 2 silver buildings. 🙂

its an interesting concept, gives you something to do , after you have updated all buildings to skyscrapers  while keys are hard to obtain due to lack of WU items,

it could have been better documented so people dont jump and start epics right away, only then city is capable of sustaining the high task request. i agree that 24h timer is too little. other then that i dont have complains.

  • As for how many 3-point building are needed to get to the cheetah level, I’ve done it in mountain, with 3 3-point buildings and 3 1-point buildings, and in gambling, with 10 2-point buildings and 1 1-point building. I wasn't sure 160 points would be possible without 3-point buildings, but it only took about an hour to reach 120 points on that project. It took a few more hours to get the last 40 points.
The key was stockpiling items ahead of the project, focusing on scarce and time consuming items. It helps to have enough for a couple of tasks on the really difficult items, even if that means you don't have room for some more common items. Also, at least 100k-110k simoleons. I focused on the higher point buildings, and the projects were completed in under 5 hours. (The mountain project would have taken longer without speed-up tokens, but still would have been complete in well under 24 hours.)

If you have 8 or less specialization buildings, there will always be a task on all of them. If you have more than 8, then only 8 tasks will be available at any given time. That's why it's best to only have 3 token specialization buildings, otherwise the tasks could end up stuck on those 1-2 token buildings, and those will make you take longer to reach your goal.

Gambling only has 1 & 2 token buildings. I have 6 x 2 tokens (and 1 x 1 token), and managed to get gold project both times, it wasn't as hard as I was expecting, but it does get harder from 100-160 points. Expect it to take 50% longer, and 50% more expensive. I do them because they offer different designs, so far I have "Tower of Poker" and "Tower of Big Stakes", and there's at least 1 more called "Epic Club Tower". There's usually a varied colour of each building depending on bronze/silver/gold project.

Don't forget that you can hit the 'refresh' button on the epic project building to get issued another specialization, you don't have to do the specialization it initially gives you.

I admit that epics cost a lot of money when have buy items to complete to gold cheetah. When this was first put into the game I only had enough storage for 200 and not enough coins to buy the items. And was lucky to struggle to silver. Now I have max storage of 500 for the last 6 months and have no problem of completing it to gold. Sometimes if the items needed are repeated and I have to look for them in the gt as long they are the easy items such as frozen yogurt, burgers, fire pit, ice creams slices, Cheese cakes, etc. But the hard one that hard to find is flour, creams, microwaves and so on I try and stock up on mostly and now have 25 gold cheetah epic buildings now several silvers llamas and bronze turtles.
