My city was hacked

My city was hacked at the beginning of this month (June 2025). A club member asked told me my city name was now Chinese characters, and I had left the club. I was doing DIY on my new house so I hadn't played for 2 days. When I opened my city I realised the name of the city was in Chinese characters and the city had joined a war club. The hacker had destroyed the roads in my city and many buildings as well.

I immediately reported this to the EA, but it is now a bot chat.  The message was they would contact me, but they haven't.

I went back to the war club chat and I warned they they had admitted a hacked city.

I decided to get rid of the inventory, items for $1.  I depleted the simcash and simoleons. This made the hacker angry and he issued a threat to the other cities.

I tried the EA bot chat twice more, and even emailed the EA directly, but haven't got a response. Not a single email acknowledging the issue. I changed all my passwords.

I opened the city this week and the city remains in ruins but nothing has changed since I last saw it.  Simoleons and everything exactly as I left it. It is not in a club. It is not playing the Contest.  The only thing is that my city description now says "Purge all cities".

Does this mean the hacker has abandoned my city now that is has no money, no platinum keys, nothing? Again, I changed all my passwords to the gibberish hard ones suggested by Google password.

It is a Level 99 city so Im reluctant to just give it up. I have played for at least 8-9 years.  I don't know if I should try to get my city back, or give it up as corrupted for ever.
