New Regions

It's been years since the last regions have arrived and most of the players have gotten pretty far in filling the regions they can unlock. I know for one, I've almost finished the 4 regions that I can unlock and as for the 5th one, well I won't be turning my cities to circuit boards to get it lol. (I like having my city look nice rather than trying to unnecessarily boost the population.) So below I will be introducing new ideas for regions.

  • First we should discuss on how we could unlock these new regions before we even think about making new ones. Of course the first thing I would suggest is to fix the population cap because 10,000,000 is just really unrealistic; it should be lowered to maybe half of that, and really less than that, but as long as it's lowered then it's likely do-able. However, if lowering the population cap isn't considerable then these new regions should have a new way of being unlocked. Just as the first regions are unlocked at a certain level, this should also initially be unlocked the same way but of course with a higher level; for example level 50. Now, for the second unlock condition I will avoid using a population cap because the point of this is to not tamper with the population cap if necessary due to the statements above. Some ideas for the second unlock condition could be: having x amount of houses built in regions(100 for first, 500 for second, 1000 for third, etc.), having all land unlocked in the previously unlocked region, or having x amount of regional currency earned. Keep in mind that these ideas are an either or situation and if you want my opinion, I really think the population should just be adjusted to be more realistic. 
  • Anyhow, let's move onto actual region ideas now that that's out of the way! So, I'm thinking that we could have either more natural regionals or we could have more aberrant regionals, or both honestly.
  • As for natural regions some themes could be: jungle(region surrounded by loads of tropical trees), volcanic(region surrounded by volcanos), swamp(region surrounded by swamp land), and desert(region surrounded by vast desert landscape and sand.)
  • As for the aberrant regions some themes could be: Spacial(region with a space theme), Underwater(region with an underwater theme), Airspace(region with a sky theme), Caves(region with a cave theme), Mantle(region with a magma like theme), Ship(region located within a ship/base of operations theme.) 
  • These are just some ideas that I've had for some new regions and I'm sure there are many more ideas that can be implemented as well, but hopefully this post will inspire to create new regions for more fun. 
  • Now finally, I would like to add reason why this should be implemented: many players are running out of space to build, this could bring more interest in the game overall, there would also be a need for more expansion, storage and other items in general. People would also have a need for more buildings of all types which would also increase the need for more mayors passes and both silver/gold keys.
  • Any questions, more additional ideas, or like a better spot for this kind of feedback are more than appreciated! 🙂

  • I like the idea of new regions. I've suggested a few times that more space be added to the capital and / or regions, but adding more regions would be fun too. I have all five regions unlocked and my capital is like 90% stuffed. The remaining 10% is landscaping I refuse to remove.

    There needs to be a new way of achieving region unlocks - population in regions is completely useless as that population does not in any way factor into the taxes you collect in your capital.

    Kudos to you for bringing some fresh ideas to the table.

    What is frustrating with game features - we get new shops instead of more space to build, whether it be more space in existing capital or regions, or new regions. My frustration level with the game's decision makers is beyond what it normally is, I don't think player input is considered much at all. 

  • Interesting concepts… worth considering…. Bottom line… one way or the other…. EA…. More Space.__ PLEASE’, I do like most of your ideas’ good, input

    Other options would include:

    1. no need for regional resources for Omega buildings, they already need control net

    2. Ability to upgrade omega storage/omega bank with platinum keys

    3. ability to upgrade storage in steps (simiar to the manner in which deliveries can be done so that storage space isnt tied up untill all of the requirements are met)

    4. upgrade the limits on train stations additional central stations and FIX THE TRAIN BUGS!

  • I would love a new region. I have all of mine completed.  I would like to build train and rail, but not at the expense of destroying a region.  I think they should have added a new region when they released train stations 

  • You know these are great ideas and I have another 800k in population to go before I can unlock my last region. My cactus zone is 30% water and have had numerous comments on how it looks. 
    we need railway bridges to go over water also more open space to create better regions.
    Another idea would be to create hills to put residential on, that would be great and be able to put the trains up on tressles to actually go over mountains or buildings plus we need more stations too.
