No to shield buster
I write this as a loyal Sims buildit player. Spend countless hours and real dollars. Sims does not care about us. We give them our time and money. And they slap us in the face, while forcing us to c...
@yuhhboii33 You are absolutely correct I am full of it, the aggravation, frustration, boredom, etc. that comes from playing the turtle teams...before you go all PERIOD perhaps it would be wise to understand exactly what the “strategy” is - simply put it is a race to the bubble with the lead and hide for the rest of the war...this strategy has caused hundreds to leave this game and many to go on sabbatical in hopes EA will fix the game. Using the bubble to rebuild your city and coordinate your teams attack is definitely part of real strategic planning but your mission is to come out and fight the war rather than hide for hours like a scared 2 year old (no offense to 2 year olds intended)...you stated you do not sit under the shield very long which is in complete contradiction to the “strategy” - so what are you saying?
Perhaps it would be worth your time to read the thread on time to shift the paradigm...not for what I wrote but for what a couple of mayors who have been to the pinnacle of the game have shared...you also will learn that I think the shield busters are not a solution but a least it’s somewhat of a vale admission that perhaps allowing the “strategy” was a misstep.
There used to be 3 ways to play war:
1. Casually, not caring about the outcome
2. Good strategy at the start
3. Hack
Because of shield buster method #2 is now dead. War will now cultivate players who don’t care or who are hackers. Game over for the competitive, legit player.
@NerfProbe Since I’m not sure what you’re referencing with #2 I’m assuming you are speaking of the turtle strategy where you race to the bubble and hide for the balance of war...if so you categorized it correctly as a number 2. After all the shield buster was designed to address this “strategy” and there is nothing competitive about it accept the foot race...legit, not where I come from. That being said EA must address the hacker issue...as far as the strategy boys are concerned you brought this upon yourself. If you are a player similar to what @yuhhboii33 described that he was, I have great sympathy for you...the legitimate competitors who come to compete in what they signed up for, not watch paint dry. If I misinterpreted what you meant by #2 please help me understand and I will extend my apologies.
Make wars shorter now. Cant watch 36 hours. Or I'm probably done. Shielding can beat hackers, but not now. Cheaters do win
5 mins in with stupid all the points and 2 energy and hackers. Been playing for a year and a half, and today I am done. 3rd game the makers ruin in the worst way that I have played.
We like the idea of a shield breaker because we are sick of clubs that get ahead from the start and hide - it makes for an incredibly boring game! Thank goodness they came up with something - maybe a limit on how many can be used would be good - and so sick of hackers - just destroys the game.
As a long time adult player of Simcity Buildit, I totally agree. The game has been dummied down and there is no longer any strategy to the game with the Shield Buster. Those who whined about being domed are too dumb to realize that there was a strategy. NOT HAPPY! Get rid of the Shield Buster. I refuse to spend any more money on the game until it is gone.
Another one of those claiming “if you hate shields, you must be too dumb to know strategy” guy lol
Yes, I hate shields. But I can cut and paste my reply on another thread to show you that I most probably know about strategies more than you, you know.
Don’t assume. Just because I don’t employ shields to score wins doesn’t mean I don’t know how to use them.
@J6niceLYes, you may have. Ed spends money. Not hacker. He runs out of stuff. Not 50 MBs. Who knows if you won. We have lost 2 times in last month.. mostly cause 3 people with level 15 mag and monster will beat one guy with it.
We run out of stuff. We work and go to school and have families.
When I say shorter wars would be helpful I mean it. Shields while annoying shortened the game and allowed a life.
Yes, teams with 9 feeder cities will lose now maybe. But when you don't have them. They pick the weakest city and bring em back, and kill them again and again at will now.
Hacker or not, what is the point in even trying against a team where one guy does 50 MBs?
Anyways. Doesn't seem anyone truly favors the shield buster. Or they haven't had it used on them yet.
I get it, but limit the use, or shorten the wars so when we lose by 100k in first hour we can move on faster than 36 hours plus 12...
Maybe they want people without a life.
You're so wrong. If you don't want to fight in the war don't bother being in one
@PIB_Hunter Not sure who you’re addressing but I can’t agree with you more...very well said.
Without the shield buster the club that attacks most first wins. As long as one team can get more than base amount of energy of attacks in with enough Jack pots used they will just sit in a bubble till the end. War is over in less than an hour. Now a time limit on how long a shield lasts with the amount of time left displayed would have been a better way to go. But that doesn't encourage spending money to buy cards to unlock attacks.
@PIB_Hunter In the thread Time to shift the paradigm I offered EA an economic suggestion along with a few specific examples of how to keep this game viable. I recognized the shield buster was a misstep and suggested why not sell the bubble with certain time limitations to maintain a sense of balance...it’s outside what we’re use to which I think is a great thing.
