I have the same problem with my iPad. The game is taking up 14 gb in storage. I have had to offload other apps to keep important ones running. Reinstalling is a right pain!

    • Offload App: This removes the app from your iPad, but retains the Documents & Data associated with the app. Choosing to Offload App effectively clears the cache. Once you've offloaded it, you can reinstall a clean, fresh copy of the app that still has your data.

I might try this option first, offload rather than delete the app.

  • Hmm interesting. Given my Documents and Data says 15GB, it almost sounds like the first sentence contradicts the second sentence…that it would only keep the 15GB (which would include the cache).

I’ve signed in with Facebook, so I’m hoping that it has successfully saved my city anyway, but I might try this option first and see if it works. Thank you.

Unfortunately offloading didn’t get the result I wanted. It kept the 15GB there even after redownloading the app.

Then I deleted everything including data, and reinstalled. As I had logged in with Facebook previously, I could login again Ana load my city.

the only thing I noticed was I was missing some of my tasks, but that’s ok.

     Thanks for everyone’s help

I took the chance and deleted my app and reinstalled it. It went much easier than expected and freed up a load of storage space. I also notice that the game now runs much smoother than before with no lagging.
