How is it a "ripoff?"
First of all, as @bdietz20 said, you are told right off the bat that if you join, you'll be knocked down to Neighborhood League.
Secondly, you get a large number of golden tickets if you compete (I think it's 10) and extra platinum keys for your troubles.
Third, all you have to do to unlock each building is get promoted. You don't even have to rank at the top, just high enough to get promoted to the next league.
Fourth, like that old Rolling Stones song goes, "You can't always get what you want." If work is getting in the way of you completing all the high end assignments in time, well, that's life. Disappointing, I know, but not a "rip off."
- ApprovedAnonymous9 years agoThe season thing is at least deceptive, and as much is a rip off in this way...
So far, none of the tasks are over 2000 points unlike before when you could get up to 3000 points.
So unlike the previous competitions, everybody can get close to top score.
Therefore, you can only win the competition if you use up your tickets.
What will get you close to top score is using up your dollars, as now there are a lot more Tokyo and London flight tasks.
You will not make it to Metropolis and win unless you use all five tickets from now on. You will also likely need a lot of Green dollars. And you will only get The necessary quantity by purchasing.
Therefore, the season is designed to make you use up all your tickets, use up and buy more green dollars, and they really tried to push you to join the league so that you would be demoted and start over again.
As for me, I will not join another season. Unless, of course the rewards are much much much greater.- ApprovedAnonymous9 years ago
While I noticed that tasks over 2000 points don't show up as frequently as they do during a regular competition I have had a few 3000 point tasks. My first task in the new comprtition that started today is for 2800 points. As for ticket use one would have to use them anyway in a regular competition to fihish at the top or near the top, especially in the Metropolis and Megalopolis leagues where the prizes include Sim Cash and yes you will have to spend real cash to be able to finish all the tasks in the time required if you want to finish at the top. Plus its a comprtition. Not everyone is going to finish in or at the top.

This (3rd) competition I did finally get 2 tasks @ 3000 pts. Since then, almost all tasks have been below 2000. Perhaps there are some competitions where you just don't get lucky and get high point tasks.

It is frustrating when one has to average about 2000 points a task in order to finish near the top and most of the tasks you get are well below 2000 points. I have a theory that if you get a 3000 point task that involves air cargo shipment, if you spend Sim Cash to finish the task quickly then you will get another higher point task. If you don't and wait it out you get lower point tasks. Thats just a theory though I haven't tried to prove yet.
