I think another tip for those who are finding it hard to wait for a nails, boards, hammers, etc to be spit out by the building supply store and hardware store is to use your sims dollars (the green ones) to purchase slots. That way you can have a bunch quarried up and if you put them in at night, when you get up in the morning, there will be plenty of them. It will help you later to make the chairs and tables, etc. The extras then you can sell to other players. This is my latest strategy. Going to see how it works. I decided to throw $5 into this game and see if that would help me be able to afford upgrades faster. If you're just starting out, don't waste that cash you're given at the beginning.
