Still cannot see googleplay friends

oh yeah another thing I did.
1. I ninstalled reinstalled the game, played through the tutorial and when it reached the connect point clicked on the googleplay icon.. still nothing
2 cleared the cache in my app, whic took me back to the tutorial played through to the point of connection and again nothing.
i've tested this with a friend and also no luck, we cant see eachother even if we both have shared visible app and we're friends on google.

I'm having this problem as well. My friend is able to see my city, but his city does not show up when i click the Social button.
