The game is not aimed at longer term players any more, we have more or less built up our cities and don't need much else to compliment them further.
The devs are aiming at the shorter term players who want "everything now" before they get fed up throwing money at the game and then realise that they are barking up the wrong tree, cut their losses and move on to something else that moves at a faster pace for them.
It all boils down to company profits and that's the bottom line these days.

I applaud the assumption,
but we all know left-wing, are die hard social equality supporters, mostly democratic politicians, who campaign for votes from the Gen Z population who claim to be victims of social inequality, racial and social injustice. Becoming aware of statements above means you’ve become “woke”.
