to continue......
When I said "in a day" I meant in a couple of hours or less.
I am at level 41 with my city and still obtaining items needed for city and storage expansion. Just last night in the "one hour" that I played the game I had the ability to purchase 4 dozer blades. I bought two dozer blades just to see if I could then re-sold them on the market. Two days ago I upgraded the city storage to "220" by purchasing the four items needed at the GTHQ's.
All I was trying to say; given the problem with the GTHQ's, is to be persistent. With out being offending here - what I do see - is a lot of players want to get to the finish line as fast as they can, patience is a virtue. The ideals that I have with each of my two cities is to maintain a slow, steady, well planned path for growth. I mentioned this in a post six-seven months ago........ The original author of SimCity; Will Wright had the inspiration to see urban planning and development at a level that most of our own leaders in the real world do not adhere to today. I try to follow Will Wright's game plan. Look ahead, build roads, develop city services up, stay ahead of your population.
Am I being just plain old ignorant or supporting EA's position on its ideals of tying the hands of players ability to grow their city? Not really - my cities (without hacks) are doing just fine. The city that I started first is at level 41, with 618,344 citizens, 3547 Simcash, and over 6 million Simoleans. I have expanded the city to within 5 expansions of being totally completed, that includes the beach area as well. Most of my city achievements have already been completed or are near that completion level. 99 percent of my Sims are happy. In fact I do applaud EA for thinking about the games' expansion. Tokyo, Paris towns, beach, Halloween Parks. Keep it coming EA if you want your players to stay interested.
Can the GTHQ's be better for all of us? That goes without saying. But even from Will Wright's perspective; I don't think his intentions were to get the that finish line within a couple of weeks of playing the game. What would you do after that?
