Yes, it’s cool that EA is finally doing something about it. And this update will be good against feeder cities. But I do suspect that the wave of updates is due their cash register not ringing as often, so they are doing lots of things in hopes of retaining their customer base.
Though this update comes too late already. They should have actively resolved this bubble issue when club wars was in its infancy and the interest in it was still great. For any games, developers should be looking out for issues when they first launched their products and solving any problems arose before the problems blew up to epic proportions. Sadly, EA chose to focus on counting the moolahs and ignored our concerns. That is lack of foresight.
Most legit players got addicted to bubble strategy and when shield buster was introduced, they couldn’t function without the shields, so they moved on from this game (notice some bubble-loving forum members disappearing?). This is good example of letting the problem spiralling out of control. Sure, I don’t miss these bubble lovers since they are ruining the fun anyway. But with most of the legit teams leaving, we are left with only cheaters and feeders to fight. I had never fought so many cheaters before. Imagine fighting 5 cheater teams consecutively at 5000th place. That’s how bad it is.
Now with mostly cheaters and feeders populating this game, EA’s bottomline must be greatly affected. But when one lose the customers, nothing much can be done to woo them back, especially for mobile games. EA should have listened to us instead of regarding us as noises.
I wasn't. I just saw it as a rule of the game. So, funny, boring or cowardly, that was just a legit strategy.
A legit strategy that sometimes availed to win with monster clubs like russian hackers.
Now the game have changed, and strategies too; but, dear bubble-haters, I'd have some question for you:
#1: was it better to have a chance to win vs hackers using the bubble, or is it better now that when you find out these clubs you can only watch them doming and undoming you without a single chance to win?
#2: does EA really did something that effectively cutted the number of hackers, so to can play a legit game vs legit players? Unbubbling attack? Limited trade for war items? KO? C'mon...
#3: are you sure that the game is better now and that these changes limited players from quitting the game?
Here's my answers: this game once was a strategic one. Now it's a shooter one. Even with limited trades, hackers are multiplying, making million points every war. And if in lower arenas it was uncommon to find them, now you can't hope it neither there.
I'm playing SCBI since 3 years ago, and I'm in a lot of social networks about SCBI. Well, believe me, I saw more players quitting the game in 8 months of undoming feature than in 28 months before it. This forum too is an example: one year ago there were 30 to 50 new messages every day, now the average is less than 10.
And if the KO won't change anything: of course, wars vs inactive clubs would be shorter than before. Of course, there's the possibility to beat anyone (even hackers) by bubbling the opposite club in the last minutes (if EA won't correct KO rules), but strong clubs will soon pay attention and won't get bubbled at the end of the war, simply freezing opposite cities. And club structures would have to change: now there's a lot of national clubs from the same timezone, so it's normal to have an uncovered period with people simply sleeping, but with a 4h timer there's a risk to awake and find that you've just lost the war. Do we have to change our life style to play SCBI?
This game once were funny. Not perfect but funny. With lot of true challenges. I'm still playing and making wars, but every new day I'm a little more bored.
Thank you bubble-haters to have stressed EA until they finally listened to you, just to turn the game into a "shooted by hackers" one. Are you happy now?

It’s a legit strategy that turns almost every club into one-trick pony. Without this trick, they are crippled and can’t play the game anymore. As I had said, EA should have solve this problem earlier, and players can easily adapt to new changes during the early stages of club wars.
Yes, the cheater problem had gotten a lot worse due to one trick ponies leaving the game in masses. But still, I stand by what I had said about rather fighting cheaters than bubble lovers. Trying to win bubble lovers is too painful a process that I rather be losing to cheater teams instead. We have real life commitments to attend to, we can’t be waiting around for bubble lovers to sneak out in order to stop them from trying to score a cheap win over us. At least I do not need to wait around for something to happen when fighting cheaters.
Cheaters are still a big problem. EA should be actively banning them. Non action on EA’s part is going hurt the bottomline anyway, whether the bubble strategy exists or not. Bubble strategy should not be justified because of the cheaters.
And I doubt that EA introduced shield buster just because of what we had said, given their track record of ignoring us. There should be players giving up on the game that caused them to do something about it. But it came too late and chased away more players instead. The four hours thing might work better than shield buster. In fact, bubble lovers may find a workaround for this change. But EA chose to introduce the money generating shield buster instead.
