Unable to update to join in with war

No. It does not work. 

I’ve been looking for the club wars update.  In game, I tap on the war building and it says that I cannot participate until I update the app.  I tap on “get update” and it takes me to the App Store where there is no update available.  iPad with current iOS.  

I’m checking about once an hour and still unable to join war, still says update needed using the war star menu. Have done the app search each time, still showing updated version 1.21.2 as recently updated.  Using iPad and iOS is current.  Thanks for troubleshooting.  

I am having the same issue with my iPad. My iPhone took some time but it finally updated.

Finally got it to update and work!!

What finally worked:

• Saved my city via Game Center and Facebook...twice
• Deleted the app
• Downloaded from App Store (mine never said "Update Available" even after restarting my phone)
• *Played through Tutorial* for a new city until she says "You're on your own!" - until you play all the way through the tutorial, the game won't offer you the "Sign in with Game Center" or "Login with Facebook" buttons, keep going!
• Settings > Sign in with Game Center > Reloaded my saved city > Confirmed

I'm up and waging war - hope this helps.

FYI: iPhone 6 with all recent software updates

As president of my club, I am hesitant to uninstall/reinstall and potentially lose rank in the club.  Can the EA moderator comment on this recommendation above about uninstalling and reinstalling.  I prefer to wait for a thorough solution offered by game designers. Other updates went through fine. Something is off with this one.  Thanks in advance.
