8 years agoWAR CHEATS! HELP
Hi guys! This situation are really critical now! A lot of clubs are unhappy because of cheats in war. For example our club had previous war. And our enemy was cheats. 1. They made more energy i...
Unfortunately, you are not alone. Our club reports cheaters weekly now. EA support does little to keep honest players in the loop about what is being done. Honestly, the best thing you can do to send a message to EA is not play. And certainly do not pay for card packs that get you nowhere against cheaters.
Right now we are playing Koreana who has somehow managed to defy time and get more Energy than is possible. Also, they only use Magnetism....every player, every attack, level 3.
Impossible? No. Improbable? Definitely.
Wake up EA! Or shut down wars and refund our money. Obviously, it's not working out too well for your honest customers.
We know they are cheaters because they expend more energy than is possible at the beginning of the campaign. It's not possible for one player to use 7 or 8 Magnetism attacks in the first 15 minutes of the war.
We had a cheater, more energy used at start of game and how does any club get that many hydrants, 186 Magnetism attacks 372 hydrants! I have high level Magnetism and our club finds hydrants to be rare. Definitely cheating. And we do buy card deals.
Hi lelik19900,
You have touched on 2 major issues in the war games and contingent where you are at the moment dictates which one is more important. The bubble issue is frustrating but it is legal, our intent is to propose a “shot clock” that is fair for all parties which is why I press for 18 hours.
As far as cheating is concerned, it is illegal - it’s a liability to the the game, it creates dissolution for active players and it’s just plain wrong. Until you have faced teams that take shots and immediately hide in the bubble, who build energy at a rate that is well beyond normal, who shoot you while you’re conducting repairs inside the bubble, etc. it’s difficult to determine what is more important.
Simply put, the documentation that has been provided and subsequently removed from this forum has shown a clear picture of what’s taking place and the good news is EA is slowly and methodically addressing the issue one report at a time. This is about so much more than a club being upset because they lost. Good luck to you and your team.
(PS: I’ve played the game since the beginning as well and have actually won the Megalopolis level a few times prior to the exploits running wild in CoM).
Hi lelik19900,
I missed this, I’m sorry. I wish I had a good answer for you but with the “short cuts” folks are taking its not simple. The last time I invested the time and energy into trying to win the Megalopolis level I scored 108K and had a 4K lead with 15 minutes left - when I returned from work I still had a 4K lead on who was in 2nd place. The winning mayor put up 35k in the last 15 minutes and finished at 127k and the 2nd place finisher put up 30k to finish at 118K. To this day I don’t know how you can put up that many points in such a short time span...legally. Since that point I just play for the points needed to get the next level chest for the club.
I have used the strategy to rebuild to 9 and stay in bubble till my energy rebuilds. Is that seen as “cheating”?
Absolutely not spankie...that's called using your brain 🙂
Yep, I agree 100%! My very strong club just got owned by a team that used the Magnetism Attack well over 200 times during one war from a team of 13, with only 11 members participating in the actual attacking. Team RedMashine managed to rack up 287255 points against us. Impossible? "no" but highly unlikely that a team would have the resources to continually use only one attack.
I've voiced my opinion on the way EA manages their gaming systems before. The game is seriously rigged anyway. You can tell by the way the trade depot is setup to only show items you don't need and hides places selling items you do, a simple algorithm in the program that's how. Create frustration in an individual and they do things like spend real cash to buy fake cash for fake stuff. Stuff that when the game decides to move on to SimCity 2020 all that loot and stuff will be even more of nothing.
i think I have a great solution, maybe we all should just start cheating and hacking the life out of this game. It will even the playing field and EA gets no money. Maybe they'll ban everyone from the game and we can take that opportunity to tell EA where they can stick there no land expansions since day one, cheating trade post programming, over priced vu item with cheat a$$ buyback offers game.
I'm going to go hack the game right now, get some of my money back, cowardly win some wars because who cares about EA and their games, they don't care about us.
Why fix a game for the people that are actually supporting it.
"F" EA because they don't care about us. They are only concerned with our money and that's it. They will never read this and think that they should do what's right for the fans that have been buying their games since inception; because money is what's important, not people.
We are all just stupid sheep that will never stop playing their games or stop throwing money into these games because we are all idiots that need to be distracted with their mindless, money sucking games.
I won't stop playing SimCity because I like my club more than the game at this point but my team has a strict no cash policy. We just help each other how ever we can and we never buy Sims Cash with our cash.
EA suck it! (insert middle finger image here)
To be fair, there have been plenty of land expansions, but none in quite some time. When I started playing, the city area was less than half what it is now, and mountains and beaches didn’t exist either. No omega, no com, and the airport was just released (Tokyo buildings)
Why report? BECAUSE THEY ARE CHEATING!!!
It's not sour grapes!
We are playing [Edited by EA_Mai - naming and shaming] (mentioned in post above) and they use WAAAAAAY too many magnets than is reasonable to obtain (all those hydrants? Give me a break!) and they have at least one member who has used more energy than is possible.
What's the point of playing the War if this is what we are up against.
Last week we played a team with a cyrillic script name that was blatantly cheating using magnets over and over and some how scoring hit points whilst all our players were under domes.
We reported them and will be reporting [Edited by EA_Mai - naming and shaming] too.
It's pathetic.
Hi everyone,
After reading this whole discussion I would like to clarify a few things.
First, and most important - definitely, yes, your experience in the game is very important for us. And I'm sorry to read you don't feel we are doing enough. We want you to have fun playing SimCity or any of our games - that's why we are always listening to your feedback and looking at ways to improve our games. And yes, we hear you, we know cheating behaviour is disrupting for the community, it's frustrating for everyone and it's something the team is focused on. We want the game to be fair.
That said, we really appreciate your reports through EA Help when you notice other players cheating. However, I would like you to understand each of these reports need to be carefully and thoroughly investigated. Otherwise it would be one Mayor's word against another's - and that wouldn't be fair either.
As you have noticed, many of the discussions related to cheating were removed from the forum because naming and shaming is not allowed. I understand your frustration and that this is important, and this is a place for you to talk to each other and give your feedback about what you are enjoying and what not. I wouldn't like to be forced to close this thread as well - please, keep it to the rules.
@doofthedoof If you want to report cheating, please, use EA Help - instructions here: https://help.ea.com/en-tr/help/simcity/simcity-buildit/how-to-report-a-player-in-simcity-buildit
Thanks,
-Mai
Thanks for your reply Mai.
And yes I have reported the team we are currently at war with.
The question is, you, EA, know that there is cheating going on. Specifically the magnetism weapon is the cheaters weapon of choice. And hydrants the cheaters war item to hack.
That doesn't need much investigation... you have seen all the complaints, very specifically mentioning these 2 issues.
Does EA not have the ability to log all a Club's attacks? A simple check on the number of times the magnet is used will show you who is cheating and who is not. Your own algorithms restrict the number of hydrants so it can't be very difficult to see who is using (obtaining) hydrants illegally.
Maybe I'm over-simplifying things, but really, it can't be that difficult for a company like EA surely?
Sorry but being able to expend 7-8 energy at very start of game is cheating. Plus they managed to have almost 400 hydrants for attacks. That has nothing to do with purchasing cards. We find hydrants are not abundant. I buy card pks and have high level Magnetism. So we reported this club primarily because of the energy issue. We all start at 6 when first able to attack, not 7 and 8.
Because you can't collect enough hydrants and anvils to attack that many times each and every war. If you are producing 100 hydrants and anvils per day...you are lying. Quit cheating! We are facing a Chinese team with 2 players already scoring 60k each and we have 12 hours to go. That is cheating...plain and simple.
Hi CleoneTown,
It certainly is suspicious and well worth reporting through the in game help section under report a player...just report the club. Eventually EA’s representatives will investigate and based on their findings will take appropriate actions, but you have to report them. Sharing here is great and encouraged, but nothing happens without a ticket...sorry you had to experience that in your team’s 1st war game, hopefully it wii get better...
i’ve taken a week or so to consider how I want to address the conversation between J6NiceL, Superpraesi, Meesfeet and myself...first thank you J6NiceL for providing the proof of cheating that contradicted what Superpraesi stated, however reading his post to you I learned that English is a 2nd language (most impressive by the way, excellent communication talent and honestly I was surprised) and I think what he was trying to say was prove rather than proof which completely changes the context and also explains why he missed the subtle innuendos I have offered. Don’t get me wrong, that does not get him off the hook for not explaining why you projected that Fantastix and German Mayor were wrong (they were not) and certainly for the enthusiastic support of the “strategy” (why do I call it that...because it’s shorter than the 15 words that describes it, mainly adjectives) but now I understand...you have never experienced putting the pads on and going into battle with 21+ brothers where you sweat, and bleed and spit out the grass and the mud and when all is said an done you look your opponent in the eye, offering your right hand and thank him for bringing his best and bringing out yours. Or left the pads at home and played real men’s football like my friends down under...simple shout out to my Roos brothers!
Superpraesi, my best guess is perhaps you participated in the beautiful game where probing is key and laying on the grass for 2 minutes after being barely bumped is common place...no offense I know it’s the world’s most popular game and I appreciate the greatness of the athletes, but come on some of these demonstrations are Oscar worthy...slap a yellow card on them and it will take care of it real quick, after all they’re begging for one. My point is playing keep away is a part of the game and honestly (in the immortal words of Lewis Grizzard) I’d rather watch 2 mules fight over a turnip (wait that use to be an Ohio State - Michigan football game)...my point is simple if you have never been a competitor (a real competitor) you will never understand and begin to appreciate my level of disdain and disgust...
Meesfeet, I do appreciate your technical insight and wealth of knowledge but as often is the case many technical folks tend to overlook the real big picture item Customer Satisfaction...without this regardless how technically sound the product is or how well made it is or how economically it can be provided to the customer they will shop elsewhere...a very valuable lesson our friends at EA should consider.
I appreciate the input each of you guys offer and though I may take exception to some (Superpraesi) I still learn something or get amused or get miffed but that’s good....keep sharing, it’s all in good fun and is certainly very different from these folks that come in asking really dumb questions where someone writes a one sentence simple answer that you find on a cereal box and gets awarded a solution and hundreds of xp’s and the writer gets a dozen (ok, I exaggerate) seems mighty suspicious - are folks really that pathetic? I just shake my head...I’ll save that for another day. Take care.
My club has just been given a similarly suspicious opponent. All war rank 1. My club is average war rank 16. We are in arena 5. Correct me if I am wrong but it would be near impossible to make it to arena 5 with a war rank of 1 for all cities in the club.
Assuming they do actually cheat,
I guess we will just have to let this team bubble us and then wait under the shield collecting ordinance until next war.
I will take screenshots and report them.
