War Teams Just Staying Under Shield
This needs to be addressed, getting tired of teams staying under shield for hours when leading, we’ve lost a few wars because of this bug in the game. Suggestion teams start losing points depending...

It absolutely stinks...wonder what their members think while they sit under the mandatory shield because the club officers said you have to. Don’t unbubble and get attacked and earn war items, don’t worry about your chests, don’t worry about having fun, don’t worry about being called a coward, see here’s your 30 simcash and we’re moving up the ranks. Great job.
I have a solution, if you’re a real player that wants to be active for the entire war and are a member of a turtle team send me a private message and I’ll try to help you find a new club...and I’lI keep it confidential. I know several great Presidents that would love to talk to you. Maybe if they lose enough good members they will get the message. But I sort of doubt it.

Hello - I found your article very interesting. I am in pretty good club except for a couple things.
You cant repair when you're attacked until you're bubbled. I figured the opposing team has figured that out and left several of us half attacked.
Plus the overkill thing has to be 10+ I read sometime ago, that 8+ was sufficient. There are 20 of us or so and the same top five always get mega points.
After an hour plus of not being completely attacked I asked if I could repair and they said no....so I sit waiting it is so frustrating!!!
I have enjoyed all the Sims games. The last time I played SCBI there was the war stuff. I totally agree there should be an auto-repair whether bubbled or not.
Several people have left team because of their rules. Plus you cant ask for other war items, but okay to sell???

Greg, I completely understand where you’re coming from and I’m right there with you. The turtle boys in my opinion are disrespectful to their opponent and to the game itself. I have friends that loved the war game but left due to the shear boredom. These wins are shallow at best and are not victories in any sense it the word.
Airbornenerdrage, I certainly understand where you’re coming from as well and agree with you as well. My good friend Modern Thinker has shared many times it is your responsibility not to bubble your opponent if they’re ahead and it’s not easy. We are in a battle with a team and the team appears built to sit in the bubble...we simply jumped on them early and often. In the first 10 minutes we were up 5k and we have built it up to 30k as of this moment.
Both of you have excellent points and in this case they complement each other. I believe this is a simple misunderstanding attributable to the closeness of the posts. Great job sharing to you both.
Bkfrency, the information you shared is unbelievable from the aspect that someone would do that, but I know it’s true, i’ve heard it too many times.

This happens in my club as it is mostly inactive at this point. There are a few of us that participate in club wars, but we never get attacked. Ever. Other teams do not attack the participating players as we might get war items, I guess. I have not been attacked in my last 4 wars. So while most of my inactive club is under shields, I just sit and try and collect enough war items to launch attacks, but often never get the ones I need to even come up for delivery. And as it is impossible to win this way, we never get enough points to buy items in the war store. So you may call it a cheat, but if the participating players never get attacked and other teams only attack players ranked 0, what do they expect.

I’m sorry to hear about your situation, there are several reasons why clubs become inactive and certainly the turtle strategy (which is is not cheating) rates near the top along with blantant cheating. It really is sad...
I’m assuming you are the President and are at a crossroads...your options are limited ⚽ you may have to make the hard decisions concerning your inactive members, 🏈 recruit new members which can be problematic, 🏀 consider merger with another club or (4) consider applying to an existing club. I suspect there are other options I’m excluding but I can’t think of any at this time.

That’s not the problem though, the problem is when I team of 10 players goes up against a team of 25. The team of 10 do as much damage as possible and get their score up while waiting to be taken out. The team of 25 can only earn significantly less points because they only have 10 targets. The team of 10 have 25 players to hit and so earn considerably more points. Once they r ahead they all remain under the bubble until the end of the war and take the win when the other team could have done better but there was no one to attack. If the team of ten need to to edge out in front more, one or 2 players rebuild , use umbrellas so they can’t be hit and jackpots to earn maximum points while the rest of the team stay under shields.when they have enough of a lead they let the umbrellas go but the larger team can’t make up the difference because there is only 2 players to hit. Where the small team has so many targets. I am in a war like this now and nothing has happened for 24 hrs so we could win but we can’t play if they won’t come out and why would they, they r ahead. This happens a lot now. It’s no coincidence that 8 of the top 10 teams only have 10 players each. Maybe that is the minimum amount to be able to joint a war but there is probably 3 active players in those teams and the rest r feeders to get the initial lead. We r being set up to fail.
In a close war I totally think turning turtle is a valid strategy.
What I really can't stand though is teams that are LOSING doing it.
In our current war, we are evenly matched 10 cities to their 11. We are ahead by 50,000 points and they have turned turtle for 12 hours. Like they seriously think they have a shot here?
I did the math, and if they opened one guy, scored 6400 points per city. and we did Nothing.... they'd still only be 1200 points ahead and we'd crush that one guy.
If you are LOSING a war, it makes zero logical sense to stay covered up. Get some cheap war items and chests for next time!!!!
Worse still in our last war it was super close for the first few hours.
Finally we Gave up. we opened up five cities and just quit. Again they pulled ahead by 70k points and then just sat there.
You already have the win. Why not take the win AND a bunch of upgrade prizes????
It's out of hand. In the recent speed wars, we made 1/3 the upgrades we should have, and that with me speed boosting the enemy and putting a jackpot on my own dang team to try to HELP the putzes make some points just so I could make some points too.
I seriously think cities should self-repair maybe 1 shield an hour. You should at least get ONE shot at making some points.
I play on a team that uses this strategy.
on one hand I feel like it’s sort of lame, like never moving your pieces from the back row in checkers, but on the other hand IT’S CALLED STRATEGY.
stop being foolish enough to shield every single member on a team when they are in the lead and you won’t have this problem.
as for those complaining about teams coming out at the end with unbrellas, once again it is called strategy, that’s exactly what the umbrellas are for! I have qualms with that one.
my club has won 37 wars and only lost 4. We work together as a team, we communicate, and we STRATEGIZE, that’s the whole point. If a team is foolish enough to shield us when we are ahead that’s their fault not ours. Some teams we play against don’t put up much of a fight but some are awesome and it’s a battle of who can activate their boost or launch their attack fastest before getting blocked by the other team. It’s good fun. Learn to work together as a team and communicate and you’ll have less issues like this.Aa for chests and goals we take turns with attacks to make sure all members are able to earn their next chest. We come out mid game and at the end of the game to launch some attacks, but only if we have umbrellas. We do repair just before the war ends if we didn’t have a dome and want the war items. Three members have left due to our war practices because they didn’t like having to work as a team and allow other members to earn their next chest before launching their attacks but we still have over 20 happy members. Nobody is forced to stay in a club if they don’t like the rules or strategies. We have a lot of fun and an active chat, that’s what it’s all about, having fun.
I can’t believe this is still an issue and EA hasn’t implemented some kind of fix. Pinnacle Valley, I like your complex idea. There needs to be time limits set for bubbles or loss of points...something! Our club loves to war and more often than not, we are matched up with clubs that use the turtle strategy.
Thanks OCZ61307, a lot of veteran players and new ones as well have offered some very good suggestions...unfortunately nothing will happen until someone recognizes that their “hide (no seek) strategy” perturbs the vast majority of folks that play this game and absolutely impacts participation every time it happens and more importantly that customer satisfaction and profitability are directly related and some of your freemium customers just may happen to purchase EA products from your distributors on a somewhat regular basis and some maybe are even shareholders.
- Yes we're in War now with a team Olivier et mimosa and we're 4,000 points behind them. They been bubble all morning teams like this take the fun out of the game.
Our club “War ducks undomed” are open and really wanting new and active members who are happy to break out of domes and play a real war game!!
- Perhaps our teams should merge!!! 😁
