I just wanted to write it down somewhere - hoping more people might agree with me.
The small lake/ponds look way to shallow now and my lovely City (with canals) looks really bad since the update :') I added a picture.
I'm really hoping we get the deeper/wider ponds/small lakes back! <3
New Water design doesn’t look as nice as the old water. I believe that most inner city water ways are not boarded by sandy beach edges, rather the are concrete or other man made structures. My cities look like they’re in a droght. I thought you created the flower bed and other landscape items to create a shore look. Please give us option to switch to the older version of water. Thanks for your consideration.
@leonessless I’ve noticed the same effect of the shallow borders of a single pond. Perhaps try and adapt your design, so that the minimum breadth is always 2x Pond (= Lake)? E.g. by removing some unnecessary roads. Most of my waterways are at least that size, and the shallow border effect is less pronounced.

this lake graphic degradation is made periodically to force people change layout of their city thus spend some cash for it
