Weekly limit clarification

I was on level 37 in Mayor Pass, with 227660 / 228000 weekly limit. I completed a task that added 18730 points. I'm assuming, due to the weekly limit I wasn't moved to the next level. Question: when next week's limit starts, am I going to be automatically moved to the next level (level 38)?

Am I going to continue with the additional points also next week, as displayed in the updated totals?

Any guidance is much appreciated.

    MinotaurBR​ - does my answer above give you what you need? There won't be any "credit" towards next week's progress in Mayor's Pass. Once you hit the cap, the purple points beyond that are not counted.

    None of the points beyond the cap will carry over to next week. That's the whole point of the cap. Once you hit it you don't earn any more Mayor's Pass points.

    This is dumb. You have a cap, then you have to use golden tickets. If you want to reach the next level in the Mayor's Pass to get the next available 250 golden tickets you have to spend all the golden tickets you got previously, which makes no sense. Why waist 250 to get 250?

    I think the strategy is to skip a season not competing for COM and collect as many golden tickets as possible, then wait for the next season with lots of golden tickets and you have a chance to compete for the top places in the COM.

    First of all, thanks for your response, but I see no connection to my question... other than you have to consume golden tickets to accept bonus tasks... I do recommend you to open another question/concern given I wanted to focus on my question. Please don't take me bad... I'm just worried if I will have to redo more points to achieve L38 next week in MP.... 

    I hope someone can help me with that.

    That is clear to me as well... but look at the points in each snap... you will see somehow it moved in the level limit... :/
