Whats the point of buying simcash anymore?

I am starting to really wonder... Because as far as i cant tell, for buying simcash its ridiculously expensive.... and for COM... well anything that costs simcash is pretty cheap if you do well... so idk... to me it seems like there isn't much point in buying simcash anymore.... and im loosing the feeling to support devs a little...

You know, just because in this event... there was not a single item that was cheap enough to buy with the first bundle of simcash using real money....

Just go look at this event, there is not one simcash item under 250 simcash... 250 simcash is a fair amount of money... and is the first bundle of simcash available for purchase.

Honestly, COM ruined simcash as a currency.... And well... There really is no point in buying anything anymore.. you should only try to do well in COM....

Its all just so unbalanced right now, and i end up missing out on wonderful looking items because i cant afford them... even though they are using a currency that was originally meant for people who spent real money...

platinum keys are COMs currency... not simcash :'(

Tbh, there is no longer a nice way to support devs... and no longer a reason to buy simcash.

A real shame considering the quality of all items is improving a lot...

If they updated the trading post to allow 24 hr auctions of limited type buildings for sim cash would be a great addition or use for sim cash. It would also be a possible way for people to acquire a past building that they've missed. Also allow noncashers to acquire sim cash.

Not a good idea.... It kinda removes the point of it being limited time... So... it looses its value if you do get any...

Tbh simcash was meant to be premium currency...A little for free is nice, but idk... if they had a mechanic to sell limited time buildings id think its kind of more pointless than it is now... and it would stop me from buying things even more because it would be easier to get it any time in the future.

I disagree only because of supply and demand. I think there will be a lot less people willing to sell those buildings. Those buildings are already rare and the demand would high. When one building does come into availability from the auction it's value would sky rocket. Most likely giving the seller much more sim cash than the original purchase.  Why would the ability of one player being able sell or purchase limited time buildings on a secondary market effect you in anyway? The person buying the building be spending a whole a lot more real money tomaqcuire the building than you did originally. All in all it supports the games existence and gives sim cash a another reason of existance.

Each limited item has a meaning behind it...

If lets say... someone got the deluxe plumbob park.... When someone who knows its meaning sees it in someone elses city, they know they are a fairly old player.

Now, if players then could trade this building.... If someone like me saw it in someone elses city... It would no longer have that special meaning behind it... because it could've just been someone who bought it off someone else and wasn't an old player like it used to mean...

    Do you understand?

It basically looses its value bcause it looses its meaning as soon as it becomes tradable.....

I would assume not that many people would want to trade them anyway... To be perfectly honest... you buy them because they look nice... No-one should ever be buying them to gain a profit.. that in general is a bad idea because its basically exploiting limited events to make a profit... So not only will it devalue all items instantly, it would also be a mechanic that hardly anyone should be using.... and if no-one uses it.... that's a lot of effort in coding for almost no reason...

Tbh i still don't know why i should buy simcash anymore (the name of this thread...) -_- was kinda hoping for some reasons why i should buy simcash.... not "Hey, what about this idea to devalue all of items you bought previously with simcash!" ... Seriously, I honestly think that would make me buy simcash even less...

  • When some players are doing very well in COM, it is true for them don't have intention to purchase any simcash package based on the current status of the game.

    1) EA may add some exclusive items(parks, building etc) that are only rewarded when players purchase selected SC packages.

    2) EA may use the VIP Perk system here(same as the one in The Sims FreePlay), so we can pursue for additional features by purchasing more.

Honestly neither of them sound like nice ideas to me... VIP systems dont really interest me because they show you how much you waste which just tries to stop you spending more... Kind of sucks :L... And items tied to packages aren't as nice because you dont get a choice (yes in charity events like RED the poll was nice, but that wouldn't be nice anywhere other than RED... and still isnt much of a point to buy normal simcash...) i wish prices would just go down so things are more affordable...

    Yes, I wish too. :D
