Zoom out further, disable graphical effects options

Hi,

I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 4 which ofcourse plays this game fantastically, however my iPad 2 is quite old now, and though I can play, I find it difficult to visit neighbours etc.  Even Daniel's city crashes Sim City, ever since the update with fancier graphics.  Also, I cannot zoom out anywhere near as much as my Note 4!

Can we please have the option to force-enable further zoom somehow, and also to disable special effects.  And please, can we disable that silly city fly-over whenever we go shopping also, or at least give us the option to?

To sum it up, more user-toggleable options please!!!

Zoom out on iPad has been broken since the Tokyo update. It used to work.  I wish they'd fixed that instead of updating the graphics.

Last update solved zoom issue. With Galaxy Note 4 and Lollipop everything works fine now.

I just switched from the HTC One M8 to the HTC One M9. I believe they are same resolution screen, however on the new device I can only zoom out a tiny bit. Considering the 1.5M+ size of my city, it really isn't playable like this.

    Galaxy Note 2, Android 4.4.2

Never could zoom out to see the whole city. If tablets could do that, I guess that's what they were trying to change. It's more challenging if you can only see a portion of the city, so the popups are harder to find.

Unfortunately, the update reduced the zoom level for me too. Maybe the slightly larger screen was considered as being like a tablet, or maybe every device had their zoom reduced.

Please turn the dial the other way. I don't want to pan around the view so much.

you can fix the zoom out easily if you're rooted

    you need:

total commander (or another capable file manager)

    HEX editor

grant both of them root access

in HEX editor settings -> other settings check "root mode"

in total commander search file system root folder for "benchmark.txt"

you'll end up with maybe 6 results, just check if path contains simcitymobile, if it does, you have the right file

don't worry about changing all of them, it's just many mappings of the same file, all you have to do is to rewrite one of them

tap n hold the benchmark.txt and choose "open with"

    choose HEX editor

    you should see something like

    | ec 03 00 00 | 03 00 00 00 | 03 00 00 00 | 00 00 00 00 |

write down the numbers, just in case you need it later

ignore the numbers in this example, they can be different in your case,

change the second and third dword from what's on that position in your file (03 in my case) to FF

so it should look something like that:

    | ec 03 00 00 | FF 00 00 00 | FF 00 00 00 | 00 00 00 00 |

save it, run the game and enjoy, you can zoom all the way out 😉

if anything went wrong, just type in the old numbers and save

Thanks for the help, it works without root access too, tested it and working. it is not the maximum zoom state, but it is far better.

Old post, but i tried to install these programs mentioned, but i can not find that "benchmark.txt." file

Or find a way to further increase my zoom.

I am playing on Bluestacks version 3. So any help would be nice, to get this to work. If still possible :-)
