City is not processing. Rollback or abandon. Rollback fails.

This has happened with my last two cities.  Both times I had just started making a lot of money with the smelting factory.  I can't reload one (the region comes up, but the city is not there anymore) and the other one has disappeared completely.  These are obviously cities that I worked on for a long time to get to the point where I had $5 million+ and starting Great Works projects.  I bought this game against the advice of one of my buddies that bought it at launch.  I thought it couldn't be that bad...if everything I am doing is getting wiped out, it is even worse.  If I can't save a city and play it...or I play the game for 8 hours just for the city to not process and then be lost, the game is unplayable.  I can't even start another city if it is going to be a complete waste.  EA, please let me know how to get my cities back or please assist me in a refund for a game that appears to be completely broken.
