Education bug? (enrollment drops to ~55%)

Hello.
I have exactly the same problem with my "school enrollment".
No purple bar and no clue what's happening.
The problem shows up 2 or 3 game-days after I build the university, the enrollment number goes down in a few game-days to 50% of my students.

I've tried to rebuild all my school/university but nothing better happened.
It's still around 50% of my students which actually goes to school.

This is still a problem that needs to be fixed, and 8.01 didn't completely fix it.  Cities will just drop off with education after they get going.  I have 6k+ possible students and I can only get 2k of them to school if i'm lucky, and in multiple cities.  I have Mutiple schools, and buses, and extra mass transit and still the university and colleges are almost empty and the highschool is empty as well.  Traffic is minimal.  Only 200k pop, which is shrinking now.  I can add the additional addon's to each school, but if I don't get more students when I do, its just wasted money.

You know, This game came out in March.  8 serious patch updates since then and the regional stuff still has issues and there are still serious issues with how the game functions and they are rolling out new content.  Fix what you put out there in the first place before you roll out the new content.  Seriously, who is going to want to buy new content for a game that doesn't function correctly.  Get all your programmers to work on the current bugs instead of working on new content.  This game should have been released a year later than is was scheduled to so it would be a half decent game.  No one likes putting so much time into just one city seeing it fall apart because almost 8 months after the launch they still can't finish patching the game correctly.  This could have been such an excellent game and now its still about as good as the Obama care website.  I mean really, the Obama care website will be fixed in a few months, maybe..., and they will still be rolling out patches for the old content and new content in Simcity.  You even have the President apologizing for it now on Main Stream News!  People waited years for this release!  EA you screwed this up so bad.  I don't plan on buying anything else from EA until you get this game running like it should.  I bet more than 3/4's of Sim Nation agrees.  Rename the game and call it Obama City, or Sim Care, and there you go.

I have a similar problem. 9100 students in my city. I have 3 universities one at level 5, yet I only get about 4800 students enrolled everyday.

So I started a new region. I built a city that started out fine with huge enrolment. Now the city has 2650 students but only between 350 and 650 students will attend school. I have a level 3 university and an upgraded elementary school. The purple bars on the education overlay show that I only have 17 students not attending. All the rest of the residential buildings have green bars or no bars at all. My city is slowly going abandoned because of no schools. There are no traffic problems at all and no traffic building up on the highways leading into the city.

Also in this second city I have 1150 students commuting in from other cities according to the reports, however my university shows that it only educated less than 450 students today and my elementary school educated 214 students. The numbers do not add up!

I have a similar problem that I've encountered with multiple cities and seems to keep occuring after getting a Future City up and running. Very little traffic, lot's of mass transit, multiple education options for my sims, and they just don't go. Virtually no unenrolled students on the education map, yet only 1200 of my 7000 students are going to school. WTF. As my traffic got better enrollment continuited to drop.

I'm having the same problem, my buildings say "Oh no we have an injury" & "Our kids want to go to school".... and some of them show the little fire bubble on it but there's no fire. Also my Garbage collection is showing somewhere like 35k bins that need to be collected, but the city has nothing to pick up. I think it's all related to eachother.

This bug has been exist from the release day. The problem is that some buildings stop producing kids and students. The maximum number of students is calculated based on the number of residence buildings you have. When some buildings doesn't produce students at all, the error occurs. Usually this bug appears when you have more schools than one. There has been several threads in Simcity forum considering this issue but I haven't ever seen that EA or Maxis has ever bothered to reply those threads.

You can temporary fix  this issue by removing the bugged buildings during the school day.

Anyway, this is very known bug and it's called as ghost town phenomenon. This includes phantom students, phantom barbage, phantom recycling bins, phantom criminals, phantom homeless sims etc...

I think they won't ever fix this bug but maybe we can get another expansion soon and more regions instead!

You can see the correct garbage amount when you check out the garbage status just at the same time when the garbage collection shift starts. The right number is there just one second or something like that until it changes to that misleading ghost number. So the right value is still there somewhere but for some reason the value is updated to that false one.

We have managed to reproduce the education issue you are describing and are taking a look at what we can do to fix it now.

Can you confirm you have neighbouring cities? It is possible your students are being picked up by neighbouring city student buses.

is there an ETA for this fix? one of my cities is about to be overrun due to ground polution from a very preventable nuclear meltdown had my sims been educated the way they should have been.
