When I installed Sim City 4 on my new computer, it keeps saying I need to repair it, which Ive tried. But it still wont launch. Ive tried uninstalling it reinstalling, maually deleting it and reinstalling. it still does the same thing.
I have the same issue using the EA launcher/icon created after the installation, however, I just found a solution that lets you play the game.
Reinstall the game using the 'AutoRun.exe ' in C:\Program Files\EA Games\SimCity 4 Deluxe Edition\__Installer\DISK1\
this will fix game and you can use the shortcut on the desktop (the launcher will still say it needs repairs)
IMO the launcher is just garbage at this point (i actually miss the origin client now) and i even had issues with launching spore/ga expansion thru it as well and now just use the icon on the desktop to run it. i stay out of the ea launcher as must as possible now, only use it to install and manually run the games afterwards
I am experiencing this issue as well. Running from AutoRun.exe doesn't seem to work either.
