Origin won't launch games, Mac
Hi Ive just download a game from the origins store to my Mac running 10.15.2 Catalina. The game seems to have downloaded okay but when i have gone to play the game it tells me i need to install it. ...
@Logan0B What game did you download? Catalina is 64-bit-only, meaning it won't run 32-bit apps. Most games available for macOS in Origin are 32-bit: Sims 3, Dragon Age, Spore, etc. If you're trying to download one of those games, there's unfortunately no way to play them in Catalina.
There are a couple of workarounds you can try if you want, namely installing Windows on your Mac (via Bootcamp or Parallels), or, if you have at least temporary access to a Mac that hasn't been updated to Catalina, installing an earlier OS onto an external hard drive or USB and booting into that to play.
