@icarlamThe only solution is for EA to update the game to make it 64bit compatible on macOS Catalina. Other than downgrading your OS, your only other options are re-purchasing in the Mac App Store, or looking into Cities: Skylines on Steam. I've been playing Cities for a couple weeks now and it's good, but just isn't SimCity.
Just reinstalled this game for the first time in ages as I was looking for something to do in this lockdown and came across this issue. Oh well ☹️
I found a workaround. I purchased this weeks Cities Skylines + DLC Humble Bundle
as Simcity is an old game i don't EA will be updating it to 64bit anytime soon

@atothedizza That's the version of SimCity in the App Store, which was updated to be 64-bit a number of months ago. The Origin version has not been updated.
EA prefers to update SIMCITY Build-it... their money machine for their stupid customers... We lost one of the best games in the world. At least Rollercoaster Tycoon isn't still death!
