I always have OIG turned off... This unfortunatly hasn't solved the problem for me.
I can go 2-3 hours and it will work fine, but randomly it will lock and require a reboot. This is on a very high end, fully watercooled computer with tri-SLI GTX 670's, i7, 16GB RAM, SSD... of course Win 8.1 too, which could be part of the problem somewhere along the line since MANY games have random issues with 8.1. Junk OS but I cant change just yet...
I can tell that Simcity gets glitchy once in a while just plopping different items onto the map. It's very frustrating when you have to come back and remember what you were doing before crashing, or worse, what your plan was.
Has anyone landed on a threat that includes any EA / SC team members about this?
Can we get someone from the Maxis and/or EA support team on this thread... over 120+ replys and entries here.
This game crashes/freezes constantly in multi-player and at least once every 2 hours in single player. Causing us to have to reboot almost every time. The exception is that it will minimize without cause and not allow you back into the game while still running in the background, thus requiring some annoying keystroke magic in order to End Task the process...
This is getting to be on the silly side... please help.

Try this guys:
-Open up Origin
-Go to My Games
-Right click SimCity
-Click Game Properties
-Check Disable Origin in game
After doing this, Simcity launched into the game for the first time for me! Seems Origin itself is the root cause of so many issues.... EA are you listening???
