Also having the same problem
The game starts fine then anywhere between 5 - 10 minutes black screen and thrown out to the desktop.
Unacceptable from EA and Maxis.
I wish I was getting thrown to the desktop. My whole comp goes haywire and it takes 5-10 minutes to get it restarted. My story is the same as everyone else's. I've got way overpowered hardware and can run most games maxed out just fine. SimCity and ONLY SImCity does this and this issue has never happened in any way, shape or form in any other game. Ever.
