Comeeee onnnnnn Maxis/EA, this is bull**bleep**. I haven't touched the game in weeks, hoping that it would be fixed by now. But no. I scored a whole 7 minutes of play time before it crashed again this morning. I don't want some crappy free game (that by the way I still haven't even played) BECAUSE I WANT TO PLAY SIM CITY 5.
I am so super sad.

Same here. I was on vacation and hoping for a fix! Nothing.
little bit update on this.. I saw post related to "DEP" solution here it seems it did solve half way of my problem.. now I managed to run the game for 3hrs+
the fix solve the issue partially for BSOD except if you try running "regional" which causes still BSOD, I noticed this happening when you have greater population of SIM or objects in you cities somehow it still working within your city. cause I managed to create another city early stages, I tried to share utilities on 2 cities so Im jumping to 2 cities.
The next issue in freezing not sure, I never encounter this problem til I folllow the DEP solution the sim city itself just suddenly freeze and "Not Responding" in several hours of game play this forces you to "ctrl + alt + del" and reload the game not sure if its because of the DEP solution of the problem already exist just I didnt noticed it cause normally my pc goes BSOD an hr after sim launch before.
The DEP thing didn't do jack for me.
Anyone have any changes with the recent patch? 2.0 or whatever.. I don't even know if it is out yet.....
Having the same problem and finally rage quit the game. One hour of gaming gone down the drain. Game crashes randomly after running fine for 2 hours on a brand new PC with an i7 quad-core, a Radeon 7870, and 16GB of RAM....
Also just downloaded the new patch. Version 1.8 I believe. Did ABSOLUTELY nothing. Uhhh my police station is more efficient now... Who cares if I cannot even run the game!!!
I'm done playing this game until there is a fix.

Currently downloading it now, and will check out that DEP thing mentioned above. Not holding my breath though...
not like this would solve all this crap happening on this thing but try it anyway like i said atleast you can play temporary but you need to work on your own city only beyond that its impossible .. just keep in mind from time to time its keep freezing aswell.. Hope this DEP thingy can resolve 1 of thousands of problem with this game..
